Hi,

What is everyone's thought on cookies, treats, and bones for a puppy? When should they and when shouldn't day... Any suggestions on what to look for?

Any input helps! Thx!

I can only tell you what we give Rio, he has vegetarian chew sticks (they are low in protein) he has cheese occasionally,if we have a cooked chicken on the go he usually has a few small pieces,he has every night 4 Pedigree markies which are hidden in his sleeping area. He has on a few occasions had peanut butter in his Kong toy, which he spent ages getting it all out.
With the exception of the markies, personally I am always looking for low protein, low fat treats, just so they don't have too big an impact on his food. (which we weigh out every meal time)
There are loads of different treats available online, I do believe there are doggie cookies, there are places that will make you Birthday cakes too.

When Cocoa was a puppy I used Natural Balance limited ingredient treats, the small ones. They were great for training and are just meat and potato with no fillers.

Sounds good!

Ok, so what about chew bones and such while they have their baby teeth!

Puppy nylabones work really well. I tried the Kongs but Cocoa wasn't interested, some dogs love them though.

hi
Hugo has ox tail or beef cheeks probably once a week. When he has these, depending on the size he only gets a small dinner.
He doesn't like chicken necks or plastic like bones.
