walking/training aids

Post by bchow »

As a couple who suffers with back trouble we are always thinking up ways of handling our chows easier.
We've come up with some weird ideas and some interesting ones...lol

However our latest is so simple and effective we thought we'd share it with you all here.

We use a nylon lead about an inch wide. We have sewed a 'handle' of same material about six inches or so from clip. This way we can use proper lead and handle at same time...good for when walking through busy places and you wanna keep your dog close to you. Or good when you have to assert a little bit of extra control, (them cats seem to dart out in front for no reason)!

Used with an harness rather than a collar it works well.

As anyone else ever come up with any ideas for making life easier?
No matter how strange?!

what i do with jersey when we walk through town is i take the regular nylon lead is clip it on (of coarse) and put the collar on the handle of the lead

Just because nobody complains doesn't mean all parachutes are perfect.

You can also get a spring that fits between lead and collar (or harness)....this helps a lot..takes away some of the strain.

Of course, eventually we are hoping for a really well trained couple of black Chows...that goes without saying!

Bring on Ceasar Millan!
