Words for Training
Hi all,
I have read Victory's post on bite inhibition (thanks BTW, has been most helpful and I use your tips daily) but I have a doubt: some people advise that a different word be chosen for biting or nipping, that instead of just saying "no" and doing the ignoring or time-out you say another word just for biting .
What has worked best for everyone? Do you all just say "no" and ignore or do you say "uh-uh" or "stop" or "no bite" and then do the ignoring or time-out?
Here's the cutie pie:

Re: Words for Training
You need to find which method works best for your pup. "Hey", as a well stated vocal interruption actually works well for my female. It gets her attention and breaks the concentration she has on whatever it is she wants to chew. Just be consistent and she should get it. Whether it's a 'leave it' type command or replacement therapy, you just need to make sure you garner attention and are consistent with dealing with the unwanted behavior.
