Coco update

Post by Coco Chow »

We've been to the countryside yesterday to see my puppy one more time before we take her home next week.

She's really bigger than last week!

Thank you all for the nice comments! :D

There is a chance we might get her as early as wednesday evening, which
is 48 h from now (and yes FYI I'm counting)!!

I feel great but as the same time a bit anxious, hoping everything will be
all right. It will be the first time I'll have to take care of a puppy... I nearly
had a panick attack at the pet store buying all the stuff we're going to
need. And the attack was not due to the bill, but to the fact that it's now
becoming real. I am usually a commitment phobic (with the same guy for 8
years but still not married for ex). I am now going to live with my animal
everyday for let's hope 12/15 years, it's a big event for me. I don't know if I make
sense. I just thought I would share what adopting my puppy also means to
me...

Is it weird that I love her already?

Don't panic. I was the same way. I actually tried to talk myself out of getting Butters (my mother kept telling me that I wasn't responsible enough for a dog, HA) My husband talked me into it and I was overwhelmed at first just over thinking things. But once he got here all was well and I don't remember life without him.!!!!

By the way perfect name for the perfect little puppy!!!!

Yes, don't panic! It is the right attitude to have - looking forward to years of loving her and taking care of her.
She is really a beautiful little chowling and I bet you cannot wait. :D
I am so pleased for you.
A couple here in the U.K. are getting a new 4yr. old rescue this coming weekend I think.
What happy days. :D

She's a cutie. And it will be ok, really. You already love her; and, you are concerned about taking good care of her. That's a fantastic start. She is one lucky chowling.

Please don't worry, everything will be fine. You obviously are going to take good care of Coco (I love the name). No, it's not silly that you love her already.

I loved Wilbur long before we got him. I cried and cried when I met him for the first time. I was a bit panicky too even though we had our previous chow for 13 years, I felt anxious about things like "what if he doesn't love us". Turned out I had absolutely nothing to worry about!
