I have a chow, two cats, one grown son, no grandkids.
Some years ago, the neighbour's kids opened the gate and showed Luna the igloo they built. I took the photos.
Maybe you could borrow someone's kids? There are adorable photos of kids/chows on this thread.
My present chow Mikki is not afraid of people, she doesn't like to be touched by strangers. We're working at the socialization part.

The photos with kids I put up are of Luna and the neighbourhood kids. Luna was not socialized at all. Yet she loved people, kids. She loved to get attention.
Mikki who's first family had kids, dogs, cats, was well socialized, she does not want to be touched by anyone except me. When I went to meet Mikki, I let her sniff my hand, I rubbed her chest and she plopped herself down for me to rub her belly. Mikki's family let me adopt her. She freaked with everyone else who came to look at her. I guess there won't be any photos with Mikki and kids.
You had butters since he was a pup?

Add one more vicious Chow to the long list of evil animals
Here's the fierce animal attacking a birthday slumber party
The girl wrapping her arms around Jaz (eventually she was hugging her) swore this was not a dog. We finally convinced her it was, but she insisted it was a cross betw a dog and a bear. Wouldn't take any other answer

Those are all wonderful! I love the tea party.
I have to tell everyone that my mom got our first chow when she was pregnant with me (and she used to guard my crib and bark when scorpians got in the house in Texas) and the 2nd when she was pregnant with my brother. We had two more chows while I was a kid and though they preferred us to strangers, all of them had lots of loving moments with us as kids and we have many fond memories. So much so that my husband and I are about to adopt two chow boys and hope we'll have similar pics in the years to come.

Thanks so much all for sharing your photos, they put a smile on my face every time I look!
I would love to see these photos plastered on the walls of the vet's office!!
Maybe, you guys should give your vets a present for their office walls????????

Here's a pic of me at that BBQ today, AFTER that nasty woman left:
One of the girls is 16 and the other is 12. They were playing peek-a-boo with Sid, it was the cutest thing to watch!

chowd with kids
hi all i'm new to the site. my chow Reno is about 3 1/2 years old. he was raised from a pup with kids. he was my Ex-girlfriends dog. she had two very "energetic" boys. Reno also grew up with a cat she rescued. i moved in with 4 older cats then Lisa left..... the animals and I are much happier
Reno is very good with kids, much better with kids than with adults. he has a great temperment

Lily was the last of her litter, too.She had one puppy left and the cost was $100. Got in the car and drove to Belle, and there he was my new best friend. Although I got the last pick of the litter, in my eyes I got the "pick of the litter"
And those pictures are too cute.
Chandler was a handsome boy.
Precious' mom, I like that one picture where your niece is laughing, and it looks like precious is too!

Thanks, we miss our Gade. It will be 2 years July 27 that he left us in body, but never in spirit. His name was Rhenegade.Haley wrote:Gade is so cute, i think his face is the perfect scrunchiness a chows face should be. and Sid, you just look like a big lovebug!
All the pics are so cute everyone. Oh yes, Cherie, Sid is is just so viscous he looks like he was terrying those young girls with his belly. LOL...
I got some!
On the OTHER hand....this one little guy....
HE bites...so did the three little mixed breeds we had before him. NONE liked the the kids much and kept waiting for us to take them back where we got them. They'd snip and snap at any weird movement. We didn't blame the first two...they were here first and didn't get it. But, Sully's been here since the kids were born. He's better than the other two, but he still bites.
Never have to worry one bit about the Chows though. They worst the do is MAYBE knock one over while doing zoomies in the backyard.[/img]
