This photo is very special to me. I adopted this Mikki chow, 4 yrs old, in October. For two months the tuxedo cat Max hid in the basement. Max would only come out from behind the furnace at night while Mikki was in the bedroom with me. He finally got up the courage and jumped on the couch to cuddle beside Mikki, just as he did with Luna.
I don't think Max was afraid of Mikki, I think he missed his friend Luna who passed away in July. Cats are pretty intuitive when it comes to chows, maybe other dogs too, don't know, I have only shared my home with chows and cats.
