so, if you can see him in 2013, uploaded in the photos section, you can see how very much my handsome boy has changed. He is almost over a bacterial skin infection on his head but most of the hair loss on his head is I think because he sticks his head between the fence posts and even bites on the wood in an effort to meet the deer and turkeys that pass by. Here's a pic from last summer.

There are a few toys that live out in the yard but he also enjoys playing with toys indoors. He takes them out the doggy door, we bring them in, he takes them out, we bring them in.

Buddy2 just kept losing hair on his head and down to his shoulders so the vet finally recommended a doggie dermatologist, who knew? She took one look and suspected Sebaceous Adenitis, took a couple of biopsies and sure enough, that's what it is. It does make dogs more susceptible to infections so that's why we've had the ebb and flow, get a bit better, then worse, then better. Doc assures me it is only cosmetic. One of those things Akitas, poodles, Chows & some other dogs are susceptible to. We are treating with Dermoscent Essential 6 pipettes that go on like Frontline, once a week for 2 months then try every other week & see. Six weeks in, I see much improvement. Will have to continue for the rest of his life, don't know how often yet. Thankfully, I found them online for half the price the doggie dermatologist charged for the first box. I am just happy to finally know what we're dealing with!!
