Introducing "Royal Red Sky at Night, Smooth Delight". AKA "Toby".

He is our new male smooth Chow. 10 weeks old in today's photos. Great laid back personality with a tail that's constantly wagging. Had a really nice introduction to our other Chows, Rory and Amber. All seem to be mixing together nicely.

For a few moments earlier Rory and Toby were involved in a bit of synchronized breathing...really funny. Amber seems to have gone into mother mode...go figure.

TY, yes we are very happy with the head as well. He is also very square. I think when the ears set he will be very nice. Personality is great as well.

We spent a ton of time out and about with our Rough chows, can't wait to get out with him and introduce him to the world as a Smooth Chow Ambassador.

Ty for the responses. So far he has been great.

At just under 12 weeks he is responding to treat training and has sit, down, paw, and leave it commands down. Luckily, he's pretty food motivated. We have 3 feet of snow in the backyard and he hasn't had 2nd shots yet, so still dealing with puppy pads, but he doesn't miss. Should be pretty easy once the yard is clear to get him outside.

The 3 chows have now grown comfortable with each other and play time can get a bit nerve racking, but overall they are accepting of each other. Naturally, the adults have their limits with him and we get a bit concerned over how he fits into Rory's mouth, but really nothing too over the top.

Once he gets the next set of shots we should be able to get him into some drop-in classes for handling and some puppy play sessions. That should wear out his energy levels to some extent. He was out for a roadtrip on Sunday and visited with some family members and my brothers English Toy Spaniel. Was really fun to watch him not get baited into chasing that dog in circles. He quickly figured out that if he turned and faced the other direction the dog would come to him. He had no chance at being the quicker dog, but showed he was a ton smarter.

TY Cindy...we hope to get him out showing right at the 6 month mark. His father just became the 1st Cream Smooth to earn an AKC Championship...very excited to get him on the road.

How are things with Chance? Haven't seen updates in a bit. Hopefully earning big points.

We had to take a break in the ring. I started a new job and am working 60+ hours a week. Hopefully we will be back at it in June or July.

New photo of Toby. 14 weeks and trying to maintain his figure. LOL, actually getting him used to ramp inspections, totally comfortable leaving the floor.

Borowik gave this post a bump, almost forgot about it...

Toby is headed to Maine this weekend for his 1st pt show. He is doing great. Ears pointed up quite nicely. Can't believe how truly square he is.

Gonna be fun to see how he competes. He will be going up with my Rory who is chasing GCH designation and the #2 Chow in the country. My friend/the breeder offered to handle him to get the Major in his 1st outing, so that says a lot about the confidence in him.
