We started off the day playing in the sprinklers.

Then I brought Chance in and dried him out

Then he went back out and rolled in the puddles ....

This could have gone on all day.

Oh my word, what a cutie! He's got such a lovely little face.

Is it terribly hot in Texas during this time of year? Even though I live in Canada, my chows in the past haven't enjoyed the intense summer heat too much, they fare much better during the fall and winter months. They LOVE winter though, a chow chow frolicking around in the snow is a sight to be seen.

I have to wait until October to pick up my chow puppy, so for now I am living vicariously through you haha

It is very hot and HUMID were we live. I would love to take a trip up North in the winter to let the dogs play in the snow!

You and Chance are more than welcome to visit us in NE. Perhaps we can even build a Major for him if he decides to ignore the snow.

It is a long way off... but we are thinking about a trip your way next fall. It would be fun to tie in a show as well.

Make sure to let me know. Fall is a big time for shows up in this area. Mostly in the Springfield area. Rory won't do a lot for Chance now that he has finished, but we have Amber to build the ladies side, and x-over points are just as good. Our Chow club has a good number of show dogs and if given some notice, its pretty likely we could build a major.

Maybe we should all meet up with 612 in Chicago for the Nationals.

We have been batting Chicago around... It sounds like fun, but we don't know if we can coordinate our work schedules yet.

Wow, what a great photo. Hope they are getting along well. We are dealing with Amber is season here and 2 male dogs in the house. Bad as it's ever been. Think the competition aspect is really adding to it.

Chance looks great. He definitely is similar in build and shading to Rory. Any Shows in the future. I think he would do well.

I cannot even imagine two intact males with a female in heat! I really feel for you.

So far they are all getting along well. The puppy only gets supervised play time with the big dogs. Chance is not overly fond of the puppy teeth. He loves to play with Drake until he is used as a pin cusion and then he heads off to a quiet part of the yard.

We hope to start showing again next month. Trying to work out my schedule at the office. How is showing going for your crew?

Cindy, any info on AKC judge Dr. Stephen Keating? He is judging up here next month. He is from Dallas, but I noticed his last couple assignments in TX had no entries. Thought that kind of odd.

I have seen him around the shows, but did not know that he judged chows.

Thanks for the response. I checked out the Dog Show Judges Report Card on Facebook, and nothing but positive reviews. Seems like just a lack of entries and not people avoiding his Chow judging. Think I will enter and give it a shot. This will be a Toby only entry as I have another commitment that weekend and will have a friend handling him. Rory only gets entered if I handle him, and we are even limiting that to shows where GCH points are available. Back to difficult times finding major counts...Toby is up to 6 points, so we can still use singles if available, but getting close to seeking majors only for him as well.
