Ursa & Malachi in the back yard #2

Post by Ursa's daddy »

This is Ursa playing with her toy. I am doing some drainage work at the house, and she got all happy and excited when I pulled the pipe along the ground. It was cute until I realized she was going to put holes in it, so I gave her an old section to play with.

Victory, you should see her. I am putting subsurface drains in for the gutter downspouts in the front of the house. She just goes nuts every time I come by with a section of pipe. She really likes to chew and pull on it. It is a good thing the drains are already in for the back of the house. There is no way I could work because she would want to "help".

Ahh, that brought back memories of nikki, we too had the same piping put in under our retaining wall for drainage and the chipmunks ran through and Nikki destroyed the end trying to get the chipmunks, I still look at the chewed up end of the pipe and think of her trying so hard to catch the critter! She would run from one end of the wall to the other hoping to catch that little critter!
Nikki did the same damage as Ursa, with the extra drain tubing left behind!

I finished one of three drain lines this evening. Ursa could hear me moving the pipe around to get it in the trench, and was barking up a storm in the back yard. She wanted to help. It got dark, so I tapped on the window to get Kitty to turn on the porch lights, and Malachi went into full defensive mode. He could not tell who the strange man was that knocking on the window, but he wasn't going to let him in. Kitty opened the door to let them look through the glass storm door and see who it was. Ursa laid down in front of the door to keep an eye on the project until I finished.
