Can't imagine Simba doing that. I have to sweep the outdoor stairs if there is a puddle, otherwise he won't go down :D
But I caught him lying in a puddle to cool down. Lying in water okay, stepping in water not okay. ???
As I firmly believe in Chow intelligence, he might have learned that his paws become slippery when wet and that's why he tries to avoid wet stairs.
Anyone agreeing with my theory, I couldn't get a straight answer from him 8)
Best regards

Saturday Leo took one of his rare long walks in the rain. As he would do in his younger days he found the muddiest spot to get his paws covered with a thick coat of pasty dirt. Once satisfied he had gotten good and dirty he continued on. I was thankful in an odd way that he was no longer capable of standing on his hind legs and giving me a muddy stamp of approval on my clothing. Fortunately a walk through the wet grass took care of the clean up and he did not get to mark his trail through the house. Sunday he was back to his regular Chow self and went only to the nearest tree for a long visit before turning around to hurry back so he would not get damp. :?: :?
