It's been a while....
It's been a while since I have posted on here. Things have been a bit hectic recently, getting our new pup, Jasper. So, hi again everyone thought I would post some new pictures of Jasper and Lily

Welcome back Becki! The new pup is adorable and Lily is looking wonderful, she looks all grown up now.

It will be interesting to see how his ectropion is going to develop. I hope it will vanish as he ages! Has Jasper seen a vet yet?

ectropion? What makes you think he has that? He saw the vet for his vaccinations and a check up and they didnt say there was anything wrong with his eyes..... Thanks cocoa!

Re: It's been a while....
His lower lids are hanging down so you can see red under his eyes that you're not supposed to see. Apparently, cocker spaniels (among other breeds) are prone to it. It doesn't look too severe right now, but it is noticeable.
Re: It's been a while....
Ohh! So that's ectropion. I thought it was just inherent to some breeds when I see their inner lower lid showing.
Say Becki, welcome back. Have that eyes checked by another vet if you got time. A second opinion.

From what I understand (my Newfi had a very mild case), it is nothing that requires immediate attention. Just keep him away from draughts = no lying down in front of a fan or hanging his little head out of car windows.Cam Atis wrote: Have that eyes checked by another vet if you got time. I'm looking forward to finding out more about his personality as he grows up!

Thanks for that Sarah! I am back at the vets in a week or so for his follow up vaccines, so will just point it out then. I had no idea what ectropion was, so would never have kknown that, so thanks! Hopefully it won't be too bad. Bless him

Thank you Sarah, that is an eye opener for me. (sorry, I could not resist a pun). It is good to learn what to look for.
