I joined a couple of years ago, but for whatever reason never became active here. Anyhoo, my boy Dim Sum is now five-and-a-half. Here are a few pics of him. :D

Nice vid! Love to see Dim Sum playing with so many dogs.

Sadly we don't have dog parks in Costa Rica.

So beautiful! Do you get the oddball comments at the dog park about how great he is for a chow? lol. I explain all the time that if they're raised right then they're just a great as every other dog.

Actually...no. But I do overhear a fair number of people (not at the dog park, but just walking in the city) who say to someone else, "oh, those are mean/viscous dogs." Far more frequently though, I hear someone say, "he looks like a tiger!" Seriously, they say a TIGER.

Haha. Tiger. Yea :( I get that mean comments too. He's the only Chow at our local dog park. There are a couple mixes, but they're mostly something else and you can't see the chow in looks or personality. Thankfully, I've made friends with most of the frequenting locals at the park so they find him endearing and come to his defense. One of them actually made fun of me today because she said I was being too strict with him when I felt he was playing too rough. I said, you know he's a chow, and if for some reason the owner felt their dog threatened it could go seriously wrong in an instant because of his breed. It's for his own safety I correct him from this. Most of the other dogs there, pits included play rougher than him.
