Rest in peace, daddy misses you so much

Post by thereisnocowlevel » Fri Dec 08, 2006 10:58 am

Rest in peace little Chow Chow puppy, daddy loved you so much...I wish there was more I could have done for you, wish I had've know you were so sick so much sooner...I only knew you a week, but I grew to love you so much in that time. You kept me up four nights in a row because you were scared to be all alone in the big house...the "experts" told me to ignore you, it was better for you--I just couldn't. I got your little furry butt out and took you into my bed and held you next to me all night long. I told you how I couldn't wait for you to get grow up...I wish I hadn't wished the time we had together away so fast...I saw you laying there with momma when I walked into the shelter that day, you tried to run to see who I was, but you were still so young, you kept falling on your furry little face...but we learned how the next few days. We learned to run and to play with buddy with our 3 a.m. games of chase, and our 5 a.m. "out to the bathroom" trips, which usually ended up in chase daddy throught the front yard  but dad didn't mind, you could get away with murder he loved you so much. Your poor mommy had been abused and abandoned all her life, no one loved her in her life and she was going to be put to sleep...daddy couldn't sleep knowing that mommy chow would never know love...he went 500 miles all the way back to the shelter to get her yesterday so we could be a happy family, you guys even remembered each other and you went straight for mommas milk  but she didn't mind too much.

But then you scared daddy last night and we had to go to the vet er...and we he told you that you had to stay up there with him for the night, daddy was heartbroken...last night was so quiet with out your little bed was so cold without your little furry happiness. And then I got the phone call this morning saying you were gone...I cried. I miss you. I love you. I know I'm young and I hope to have alot of time left down here, so if you're up there in heaven, get comfy on the couch little guy, and don't cry for me too much, we'll be able to play chase through the front yard again someday little guy.

Parents are never supposed to bury their children, I know momma misses you just as much. I promise, I know momma has had a rough life, but I will never give up on her, just for you little guy.

Rest in peace little Duncan, daddy loves you and misses you so much.

Pain fades but good memories won't. Even though she was a second thought momma chow will help fill the void.Give her your love.Rescuing her may have been the purpose behind all of this You sound like a pretty decent human being and anybody who would drive 500 miles twice for the reasons you did is a rare and special person.

Dear Lord,
Please open your gates and call St. Francis to
come and escort this beloved companion across the
Rainbow Bridge.

Assign him a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always tried to please me.

Bless the hands that send him to you,
For they do so in love and compassion
freeing him from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing these memories with others.

Let him remember me well
Let him know I will always love him
And when it is my time
to pass over into Your paradise
Please allow him to accompany
those that will bring me home.

Thank You Lord
For the gift of his companionship
and the time we've had together.
And Thank You Lord
For granting me the strength
To give him to you now.

this tiny chow was not so far away nor passed so long ago ..lived so short a life and was loved so much for such words to be composed

"Say not in grief he is no more but in thankfulness he was."

He knew love if only for a short time - and you now have his mother to love and look after.
