Zoey is free

Postby wokman » Sat Feb 08, 2014 11:50 pm

February First I saidl good bye and received a final lick from a very brave, loyal and sweet Chow girl. Cancer had spread through her and ended up in her lungs. She went on as if nothing was wrong though she had lost eight pounds since November when a growth was found on her tongue. Zoey and I both survived a car accident in January while out of state, it was our second trip in a month. Zoey's illness became worse after the accident with stomach sickness and worsening eye discharge. Zoey was treated by a Chow friendly Veterinarian, the medication stopped her upset stomach but the eye salve made the discharge worse. We returned home near the end of January and her regular Veterinarian treated her eyes with a different medication that stopped the discharged. Zoey refused food the day after our return and never ate again; I believe she held out to die at home. She was as brave as her Mother Kamie at the end and surrendered to the pain in peace and dignity as all my Chows before her had done. Kamie saved you and now you are together again with your Mother, Leo, and Abby. Run free without pain, I will miss you forever.

Thank you all for your kind words, they help warm this cold empty house. Four lost in seven months.

I have not been on the site for some time and was so sad to see your posts in this section. I can't imagine how hard it has been to go through all these losses. I am so very sorry. There are no words for what you have had to face in the last year. :'(
