I just got back from walking the dogs... We bumped into our neighbor who rescued a chow/golden mix a few years back, and while we were talking, she looked down at Dixie and told me how she reminded her of Cosmo (originally Chester). Apparently, a few weeks ago, they had to let Cosmo go. He was estimated to be 16 now... Was rescued 4 years ago... He was the kindest old soul I've ever met. He and Tippsy were great buddy's. He'd come over and say "hi" whenever we were out when he was too. He had some health problems (heartworm positive when they rescued him, but treated him and got him better, severe arthritis, hip displasia (sp?), and sesures(sp?)), and he was just unable to live happily anymore, so they made the difficult decision to let him go...

Dear Jess

Please accept my heartfelt and also pass it onto your neighbor for her loss of Cosmo/Chester. It's hard to make that kind of decision when our beloved "friends" can no longer enjoy life as they once did. I feel we have to step outside of ourself and think of them. It's hard to make that ultimate decision but in the long run it is for the best for them and our life is made richer for them having been part of .
