Benny has moved to the Rainbow Bridge
Our friend Benny, Adjutant Chow of Steel's ChowForce has left Ft Piney Woods Chowquarters to wait with his friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
He has been sick for some time with a thyroid failure, Cushings and some minor carcinomas, but we thought it was being controlled by his medications. I knew something was different the last month or so, as his personality had changed. He was becoming much less aloof and more affectionate to everyone --Lady, Bobbycat, the next door neighbors and even me. He actually started sleeping by my bed which was very unusual for him. I thought it must be getting close to the end for one of us, but I had hoped it was me rather than him.
For those who didn't know him, Benny was a street stray picked up near Dallas. He was severly underweight and a heavy chain had worn all the fur off his neck. Despite all that, he was the gentlest creature on four paws, with an unmatched dignity only a Chow can aspire to. He introduced me to Chow friends from around the world. We met a few of these in-person at ChowFun and Bama's ChowFest. He made a huge impact on my life, and will be remembered. I hope he knows that he was loved.
See you at The Bridge, FuzzyButt!

Dear, dear Jerry,
I am crushed to hear this news of Benny's passing. I was just thinking about YOU the other day, hoping you and the family were all right. (edited to add: Quote: (((he was the gentlest creature on four paws, with an unmatched dignity only a Chow can aspire to))) YES he was; He was the epitome of THE southern gentleman at CFun @ Kodi's.

Run free and healed, sweet Benny Boy.
All our love,
Cindy & Kodi

Re: Benny has moved to the Rainbow Bridge
We met Jerry, Benny, and Lady at Bama's Chowfest. Benny was so laid-back and not bothered by all the other dogs and people. You could tell he was content with his life. Our condolences for the loss of such a gentle dog.

Oh Jerry. I remember the day you and Benny hit the scene. What a joy it was to have you both in the family. I long for those bygone days, when we had nothing better to do than wonder what party the furkids were sneaking off to... Benny was the best bargain you ever made. Though your life has been busy, I thought of you guys often. I bet he is happy to finally meet Miss Milly and Cayenne, and all the others that have gone before him. Damn it! Who will keep you on the straight and narrow now? My deepest sympathies to you all.
