Oh! No! I am so sorry to read of Milly's passing, like many others both Milly and Mabel have been discussions in our house and we really feel as though we know them. Judy and Fred please accept my condolences and Henry sends Mabel a sniff and a kiss - he says he's sorry that Milly can't play anymore but he is jealous that your getting a new chowling to teach baggageness too! I'm just devastated for you.

It was so heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Millie. Millie and Mabel were the first chowlings I met on the old site, and their activities were the topic of many discussions here in Chicago. Our family sends our condolences to Fred, Judy, and Mabel. Hopefully Mahayana and all our other Chow friends met her at the rainbow bridge and they're romping off to color the sky with their tongues and cool the world with their tails. Run free Millie!

Gods speed our little chowling. I just lost my Caitlyn.......and I had instructed Rufus, who went before, to show her where all the cool stuff was over the bridge....and most importantly, to show her the peep hole where she could look down and still keep and eye on me until I joined her..Cait....take her under you loving wing for me.....

Judy, my heart goes out to you. I know your pain. As does Leela. May God heal your heart with love and fond memories and a new birth! much love...Sharon and Leela

I just joined ChowChow.org minutes ago, and Milly's passing is the first post I have read. I am so, very, very sorry for you, your family and your other Chow. I just burst into tears thinking of your pain. I am one of those people who believe and practice the theory, to help heal the heart after the loss of one beloved Chow Chow, get a baby as soon as you can. That is all that ever worked for me. In time, we clearly see that the love, laughter and joy they gave us for a while was so worth our knowing they will be gone someday. For sweet Milly now there is running free with no pain.

Our warmest regards to you for your loss. We have had our hearts saddened many times over the years and nothing can replace the joy you have lost. In time though, a new joy will come along and ease things going forward.

The best from Nat, Eayore, Cassie, FengHuang, ShenLung and Jason.

Oh my goodness, I couldn't believe this thread when I saw it!!! I've been off for awhile, traveling for business and the weekends are just way too short, and was so shocked and upset when I saw this... Not only did it remind me of the loss of our first chow, Chia, from cancer, but just the thought of you being without both of the girls was heartbreaking.

My heart and the hearts of my family go out to everyone involved in this, especially Mabel who surely mourns for the loss of Milly. I cannot tell you how often I have just been cheered by reading of the antics of the two girls in the British Isles, I feel as if I've lost a family member.

Please know that our hearts are with you all right now.

Oh Judy and Fred...
I am just lost in a flood of tears. I can't even believe it. I know how you are feeling right now and I am so sorry you are having to go through this. When we lost Cayenne I was amazed at how well Chewie coped and I think he, like Mabel, knew way before we did. Give Mabel and extra big hug from me and from Chewie. Your stories of the two of them are what kept me coming back all these years. And in my visit today I read about Mabel's temper tantrum, laughed and then read this devastating news.

I'm sure that Cayenne is delighted to have the lovely miss Milly up there with her and they are just prancing around together, harumphing at all the boys and the young ones as they mess the place up. Then they move on to some lovely shade outside and have a little chat and compare their beautiful coats. Can't you see it now?

I will dearly miss your little baggage.

Love,

 I'm stunned. I've been in my own little world with Sheena and Troy.
Always will have a smile whenever I think of that little baggage of a Milly and her antics. Hope your little baggage Mabel is faring well. Hugs to you Judy, Fred and all your family and may you find the peace you definitely deserve at this time.
With love from Jennifer, Sheena and Troy de Bad Boy.

Thank you everybody so much for your messages. They are such a comfort - the more so because I know you all understand exactly how we feel.
Today is Milly and Mabel's ninth birthday and I just so wish that Milly Ching was here with Mabel to celebrate. We always have such a lovely day - but there you go - it was not meant to be this year.
I am just remembering with thankfulness the years that have past and thank God for them. :)
I am also thankful that Mabel seems to be coping well. She is now eating normally and is enjoying her walks - I hope she is here for another birthday next year and the year after that and that soon we can bring a little chowling home for her to cuddle.
The other day, the granddaughter from No. 2 in our avenue brought her little Shitzu down to see Mabel and she was delighted to see her. She made her great big goofy play signals to the little thing but the little creature only barked at her so I am sure she will love a little creature who will understand her Chownese.
