Rogan has passed away

Last night, Rogan passed away. We took him to the emergency vet because he was panting excessively and drooling - just generally not normal. Within 2 hours, we found out that his stomach was distended with air, he had a body temperature of 105, there was a mass in his abdoman and his lungs were probably cancerous. We opted to not do palative care (we both view that as selfish - keeping him alive for our needs, as opposed to his) and instead sent him to the Bridge to meet his sister, Nina (our rottweiler that passed on 9/1/08). Devastated can not begin to describe how we are feeling right now.

My condolences. This is so sad to hear. Find some peace that Rogan is with Nina once again.

You and Rogan were here my first days, and one of the first wonderful Chow welcoming commitee I met. Even though I know life has kept you busy, I had the comfort of the knowledge all was well. Your Rogan will be missed by us all. I light a candle at his passing.

I am so sorry for the loss of Rogan. It is never easy to say goodbye but you made the right decision and I am sure he knew how much you loved him

I am so dreadfully sorry for your pain and there is nothing I can say to make it better - if only there was.
Just know and know well that you did everything you could for him and you showed him the greatest gift of love you could by sending him over the bring to The Happy Hunting grounds - no more pain and every day is spring. :)

So sorry to hear about Rogan. It is so painful to say goodbye to such a long and loved companion. Safe journey Rogan to your sister Nina who is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. X X
