So sorry about this. I lost "Chevy" last year, 11 1/2 years old. He was such a good buddy, and it was a good thing that I was wearing shades when I left the vet's office because the tears were streaming, the only thing that helps is having another pup. A new pup helps you heal and remember the good things about the wonderful dog you had. Chevy was the greatest, never forget him.

Dear Carolyn,

I've been away from the computer for over a week, and was saddened when I read this morning that Zena had passed. While it may not seem like it, that you were with her at that time, you were able to let her go onto the next life knowing you were there to say goodbye and knowing you loved her, is such a precious gift.

As time passes, you will eventually get used to her physically being gone. This takes time though, and by allowing yourself to grieve, to remember, to laugh and to cry, this is all in honour of Zena and the love you shared. Always remember that love never dies.
