Little Mabel is 9 today, bless her sweet chow chow heart.

I wish her sister was here to celebrate with her but this afternoon she will have a little cake and I will cook her some chicken for her dinner. She will love that!!

I thank God she is still here with us.

Mabel did not have a particularly good day yesterday - she was very sad and wandered round the house and garden. She enjoyed her little cake and her dinner.

Fred and I did not have the heart to put up the balloons and birthday banners as we have for their past birthdays - it simply would not have been the same.

However, today, she has been in a much better mood and has been interested in everything we have been doing. I am hoping that when we get a chowling for her to cuddle it will soothe her little soul.

Thank you. Mabel has had a lovely day today. We took her to Delamere Forest this afternoon. It was a lovely day and she was so excited when we got there. She set off up the forest trail in a hurry - it was as though she was concerned about being late - and enjoyed every minute.
We met a lady and gentleman with three dogs - two little Shitzus and a pointer. They were all so well behaved. The little Shitzus made play signals to Mabel and her eyes glistened. The pointer sniffed her and wagged her tail and Mabel wagged her tail. We also met two boys with two little spaniels who sniffed Mabel who wagged her tail at them - again, her eyes glistened and we met a gentleman with two dogs who took absolutely no notice of her at all.
She looked up at me with such a puzzled look in her eyes as if to say , "I only wanted to say hello...........".
Then this evening she had chicken for her dinner again so all in all, it was a satisfactory day - bless her and the pups in Manchester are due next Saturday so we will have to see what happens then.
