Is this bad?

Is this bad?
I wasn't sure where to post this, and I'm not even sure something is wrong. I have noticed lately that when we pet Buddha, especially when we scratch right above his tail (he loves it...or so I thought), he automatically goes to sit down, or his legs go behind him and he slowly falls down (does any of this make sense?). I thought it was because it just felt so good that his body was just relaxing. Could that be it, or could something be wrong? He doesn't act like anything is wrong.
Thanks so much sweetpea!!!
Re: Is this bad?
Pekoe has done that a few times and I kind of worried about that my self so instead of scratching her I slightly pushed on her rear to see if it still happened, she resisted so all seemed ok. It could be that they are relaxing because it feels good but putting your hand on their rear like that is also telling them to sit so it could be that also. Try slightly pushing if there is any pain or discomfort he will react to it.

Re: Is this bad?
Kiwani just posted something about a bundle of nerves being in that spot, and how scratching or petting there can make some of them lick the air. I've always noticed that all of them will sit eventually or lean against you if they really like it. I think it does relax them a bit, it also relaxes humans, (there is also a bundle of nerves at the base of our spines, if I remember my anatonomy correctly).

Ours do the same thing, we tease them they really are cats. Scratch their back just at the base of the tail and watch the fun. They all act differently Some lick the air and some sit down. They all seem to like it.

Funny.....scratch Kearra at the base of her tail and she leans into your legs, bends almost in half and raises her hind leg in the air....she is hysterical.....I think she loves it!!!
Kyra will lean into your legs and then down she goes, belly up, for you to scratch the other side
I think they just LOVE a good scratchin' and thats just one of the good spots

Holden loves being scratched or pat hardly on his back right where his tail rests. He will lean into you and try to lift his butt up higher while you scratch him

Re: Is this bad?
We have one old guy that arches up like a cat to get scratched there. The funny one though is watching our Great Dane when you scratch him there. He does the legs out in back , squat , lick the air and all at the same time. haha. He is a large doof. Shandi just enjoys it, then rolls over for the tummy rub to go with it.
