Go to http://www.netchows.com and in the top right hand corner is Blue Tongue Talk. Pei Fang is http://chowchow.no/ and Lechan is in the breeders section under the United Kingdom.

Brad, what they are telling you is sensible.
1. Holly is still young.
2. She is also very heavy for a chow chow. My M & M are
only 40 lbs. and 38 lbs. (They are small chows though)
but Miss Holly does need to lose some weight.
3. Puppies can also cause a great deal of heart-break -
they are hard work and then there is the worry of
finding them good "forever" homes. A well bred chow
costs a lot of money here on The Island but a not so
well bred chow might be passed around and eventually
dumped in a shelter. People are harsh Brad. My mother
used to breed Pembroke Corgis many years ago and for
somebody to be allowed to get one of our puppies they
had to go through something like "The Inquisition".
My mother would interview them to such an extent, my
father would get embarrassed! It used to amuse me
but there again, I was about your age!
4. It is also very expensive to breed a litter. It is
not a case of taking your girl to a stud dog and then
"Wham! Bang! Thank you Ma'am" and nine weeks later,
"Hey Ho, lots of little chowlings" - you have checks to
do - vets bills to pay - examinations, scans, worming,
diet etc. etc. then if something does go wrong, which
can do - an emergency operation can cost an absolute
bomb!
So, it might be worth giving it serious thought.
Regarding adopting a chow chow, I will have a little think and find out if we have a chow rescue here. I suppose we must have - just don't know.
I too would love to have a rescue but we have two and we could not manage another on a walk.
Regarding your spelling, bach, you are 14 and whereas I understand what you are saying regarding your Welsh Heritage and possibly Welsh is your first language, I do not think that the examiners take that into account when marking your G.C.S.E. papers when you are 16!!
Don't take offence - it is the teacher in me - but there is a great difference between "their" and "there" and your homework is, tell me the difference in your next post.
Don't take offence at Jerry - he is a very nice guy and has a lovely Chow called Benny. I would suggest he knows what he is talking about!
Also, it is hard when your parents are saying one thing and you are thinking another.
We had a case a while ago on this site when a young lady about your age was worried silly about her old chow and was desperate to take him to the vet but her parents were happy for nature to take it's course. They would not listen to her. Anyway, her old chow died.
So, think on cariad.
It can be hard being a teenager. I am 65 nearly but I can remember very well.

Well, therefore Brad - it is out of your hands so don't worry about it.
To the others on the site - please remember, he is 14 years old and on The Island, Wales particularly, he won't have much say in what his parents decide regarding the chow.
So can I suggest you lay off him.
Brad - can I suggest that you drop the subject on the site - take advice nearer to home 'cos believe me, this thread can and will get really nasty if you continue. Some of the people over The Pond really have a problem with what they call Back Yard Breeders and with good reason.

Well Brad, sounds like your mom and step dad are bent on breeding her. I will tell you two things, if she breaks water and hasn't started delivering pups within 30-45 minutes, you better call the vet or get her to the vet ASAP. Second, if she breaks water and there is a greenish or black discharge, get her too the vet ASAP. Good luck.
