Sticky Tongue .. *L*

All three of my chowgirls like to give me kisses. If I lean over to pick something up off the floor, all three come wiggling through my arms and legs, wanting to be petted. And they all start licking my arms or face.

Khana is the strangest dog when it comes to licking, though. She'll be laying on the bed and will start licking my arm, and will make these long slow strokes up my arm .. and then she'll stop in mid-lick with her tongue still on my arm! It's like her tongue is stuck there for a few seconds. And then she'll resume the licking.

I've never had a dog pause in mid-lick like that before .. *L* .. it's like she gets more and more relaxed as she's licking and gets going slower and slower until the tongue gets too heavy to finish pushing it up my arm .. *LOL* .. and then she takes a tiny break, re-gains some energy and goes on. Licking, to her, is a very happy and relaxing behavior. I don't mind her licking my arms most of the time. But there are times when she just won't stop and I'm covered in dog spit and I finally say "hey .. enough, please!" .. *L*

I sure have changed .. with my first dog I didn't want ANY licking. Now I get chow kisses everyday and I'm glad to get them!

Does anyone else have a chow with a "sticky" tongue?

Angel does that pause thing, too! She loves to like people's toes! She's so funny. It's sort of gross and we often ask her to stop after a minute because it is SO sticky! But I always laugh when she does that pause, mid lick. YUCK!!

i dont think Chloe's tongue has actually got stuck, but i know she definetly likes to lick. Especially after one of us gets out of the shower, she waits in the bathroom and as soon as my husband gets out she is there licking his legs, i guess she thinks the shower wasnt enough!!

Ming will kiss me on my nose (or mouth, if I'm not too careful), but Tempest is a licker from hell. She licks and licks and licks, she'll lick a person, she'll lick the banister going down the winding stairs, she'll stand and lick the walls, she'll lick her feet, you name it and she'll lick it. Go figure. I think she was weaned too young!!!

Izzy likes to lick too. But I am not to fond of the licking, so she only gets to give kisses when asked to.

Kita licks all the time. Her favorite time to lick is when we change our pants. Yes if we get in or out of our pj's she waits at the bedroom door and pretty much accost your leg as you try and walk down the hallway. If the door is partially open just a crack she will practially press her face up to the door with out opening it watching so she knows when you are dressed....She is so funny. If I cooked dinner and my BF feeds her (cause she is spoiled rotten and eats better than some of the people in our neighbourhood) she will come over and give me tons of those slow licks on my pants or arm and BF will get one little one for bringing her the food. See she knows who brings her the food but she is smart and knows who cooked it.

Blue! Angel does that, too.... !!! SOmetimes I'll hide my feet under a blanket so that she can't get to them and she'll nuzzle her nose right under!

Jasmine has the mid-lick thing. I've always thought she was just waiting for the saliva to build up again so she can keep going.

She licks the toes and every other part she can get her tongue on

Her biggest licking is when I put on lotion. Doesn't matter what kind, but lotion - I may as well be smearing my legs with cheese. She goes crazy

Peanut doesn't lick or give kisses.

LOL, we've always thought it was a Special Dark thing! It's so funny and I've always wondered, what happened? Is he tired? Did he forget that he was licking me and mentally moved onto another activity? It's the cutest thing!

Maggie used to lick strange women's freshly shaved and lotioned bare legs in the elevator. They were usually pretty good about it but I was mortified. She liked the younger gals with lots of perfume on, Maggie!!!

Zues does the same thing loves to lick everyone....now Kimba is only like that with certain ppl. But Zues does it to everyone he meets. First Sanction MAtch I took him to all he wanted to do was lick the Judges !!They thought it was pretty funny. He ended up getting Group 1st and Best puppy in Group !
