Need more be said. Nothing wrong with Safeway but like its been said a hundred times, don't buy super market pet food.

didn't have to read past Wal-mart, plus I don't buy it. Crap is Crap no matter where its sold. I also read somewhere that just because a food may have the same label and made by the same manufacturer there is a big difference with what they sell at the pet food places then the supper markets. The Purina you buy at the super market is the by-products of the Purina sold at the pet stores. that's why the difference in Price. I don't know how true it is but sounds logical.

Both Iams and Eukanuba brands were specifically mentioned, and from Lou's poll it appears a few people may use these brands.

Logic would tell me not to trust any pet food manufacturer. Especially coming from Canada. We've had cases of BSE and who knows what else is hushed up.

Man oh man am I glad I switched to Solid Gold...but you know what, I can't wait until Dreamdancer is a year old and then they go back on home cooked. It takes time I really don't have anymore, costs a bit more, but dang it...how can you trust these companies? Of course with the laxity in the quality control of human food these days in the US, I'm not sure that will be much better!

During winter we only get Mexican and California spinach up here. What did they do when it was banned? Change all of the top soil? Popeye's fault.

hey guys im starin to panick. i cant open the nutro file from thr link its tellin me its corrupted. how do i find out if the food im givin the furkids is ok?? im sh**tin myself here. HELPPPPPP PLEASE.

Janet, no need to panic. I called the 800 number. This concern is only about wet food, canned food. No kibble involved.

I am going to buy a small crock pot or a small pressure cooker this weekend. You just throw all the ingredients in one pot. No fuss, no muss. You can cook this to store in the fridge for three days.

I will buy chew sticks to keep the chow's teeth clean.

What's Nutro got to do with any of this I watched the news last night, It was wet food and none of the food i ever heard of was mentioned.

The original posted article said that all affected dog food brands would not be posted until Saturday morning. People could go to http://www.menufoods.com/recall to check the full list at that time. Unfortunately, certain varieties of Nutro are on the affected list. The news reporter probably didn't have the full list since the list wasn't disclosed until this morning.

Yea i just checked it, it looks like its all canned food, I wouldn't and never have fed Pekoe any of that nasty stuff anyway no matter who makes, Even Nutro. Not only is the food going bad all the time but chemicals from the can get in the food also. How much you want to bet its coming from the can. I get sick when I eat chillis and stews form cans so I can imagine dog food.

I didn't finish what I was saying to Dc, the site kept going out. Anyways Dc from the sound of it the pet-smart in Culver City said he wan't selling any food untill they figure this out if I heard the story correctly.

I think you live in Culver City or was that west LA? I know you live some where in LA if not culver City then owell don't go to culver city then.

I am having problems getting to open right now (dang internet! lol) Can anyone tell me if Canidae is listed on there??

I pretty much only feed dry but we do toss in a can of wet about twice a month for a treat.

Also, is Chicken Soup for the Dog/Cat Lovers Soul on there?
Chi-Ching is not on it but the cats are, and if the dog food is being recalled then I would stop with the cat food as well. Again they only get dry but you cannot be too safe.

Awesome. Neither one is on there. We are really happy with our food and the place we get our food from is great, you sign up and if there is any recalls, they will call you and give you a free replacement bag of food. They are a small mom and pop type shop but we love it! They have a lot of natural and home made dog treats. They make their own and we bring Chi-Ching in and they always give him free stuff!

Thanks for the list!! I just wanted to make sure that I just hadn't heard yet. I feel better!
