Any breeders select for Chow "VIII" type?

Hi,
I'm having trouble finding reputable breeders that breed for temperament and the original, "VIII" Chow type. All reputable breeders I've found in the states breed for the newer, stockier type. The "puppy mill" dogs often resemble the old type, but I'm wondering if any reputable breeders select for this type! Although I'm no expert, I'm a bit concerned with the modern, denser appearance and loose facial folds. I'm worried that if I were to get a dog of the newer type, they won't live as long, and could have walking and/or breathing problems, even if they are health tested for things like entropion and hip dysplasia. I know there are lots of healthy newer-type Chows, I just think our beloved Chows would be even more healthy if we kept to the original type.
