Help.... Wet bib and neck
Chow lovers, I am in need of some advice. Our 6 month old red female is a sloppy drinker. She always has her bib wet and nasty. What can we do to help this? The vet has mentioned the possibility of infection. We are constantly trying to dry her off, but we can never get it completely dry....

Chance is a messy drinker too. I had to spend the money and get a pet hair dryer. I bought a very basic http://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore ... -pet-dryer
I am not with him throughout the day, but when I am home I am constantly wiping his neck with a towel. I do blow it dry a few times per week and rinse the drool (mixed with dirt) out of it once a week. I was told he would grow out of it......... BUT I DOUBT THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN!
I need to pick up a few of these to try...http://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore ... wl-in-blue
Good luck!

You could elevate your food and water bowls if you haven't done so already. Try getting a small table that she can eat/drink from at eye level, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/IRIS-Elevated-Air ... 5357011_11
They have other styles but you could also put her food into the container to save space. I have something similar to this for both Bart & Maggie except I built theirs to fit a space near our pantry
I don't know too much about this product so I can't really recommend it but maybe this could be another alternative:
http://www.amazon.com/Slopper-Stopper-D ... B009VNMP50
I would also invest in a good dryer, towels will take forever

Chloe is 8 and 1/2 and she too is a very messy drinker. She has never had an infection and I barely even attempt to dry her at this point. She does go to the groomers for a bath and brush out every month and that is part of why she goes so often. I tried different bowls and heights with her years ago but nothing really seemed to make a difference.

Yep, they can be sloppy drinkers. I have one that never spills a drop and two that are absolute slobs. Never have any success changing the bowl height. They get marginally better as they get older, but really only a bit. I have heard stories about constantly wet chins getting a mold growth, but have never really seen it. It would have to be pretty severe in my opinion.
Best option might be a bib. I have seen some pretty nice fashion pieces. Usually on other breeds, but they make them in both a traditional tie style or with an elastic tether. Could be better than following the dogs every trip to the water bowl with a towel.
