Overshot Puppy: What Can I expect?

Overshot Puppy: What Can I expect?
We just found out that our 4 month old puppy has an overshot bite. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it possible the bite will correct itself? If not, what can I expect when her adult teeth come in?

So, 1st off let me say, yes I have experience with this.
My 3 year old male has an irregular bite.
At 4 months, there is definitely a chance that your pup with outgrow this and it could correct itself. If it doesn't, what to expect depends on the severity...with a minor bite issue, expect that he will chew his treats just a bit funny. Can be humorous at times and not a big deal.
More extreme issues can cause the teeth to grate on each other and result in premature wear with dental problems, tooth loss, or possibly dietary issues. But that is really on the far end.
My male has a slight undershot on just one side. Result is sort of a snaggle tooth. He chews soft food a bit funny, but he completed an AKC CH campaign a few months ago. In that world, it varies a great deal on how the judges view an imperfect bite. Some consider it to be a big deal, others understand that we just don't put orthodontic braces on our dogs. Not usually considered to be a genetic trait.
