Welcometo you and Riley! He's quite a handsome Chow, and to me he looks purebred. Enjoy your time with him, you will have a blast
sharing your life with a Chow! By the way, your English is pretty good!

Welcome to the site! I think you have a very handsome boy! I don't see anything that would make me think he's not pure Chow Chow.
Great to see Chows from around the world. Thanks for the photos!

Yes, he is an open faced Chow but he looks like he has pretty heavy bones. He should grow up to be great looking Chow.

It's very sad that Chows got the bad reputation they did. I do think that 90% of the bad rap came from owners that shouldn't have owned Chows in the first place. You could argue that the bad rap has been good for the breed however. There has been much less bad breeding and breeding for profit by the puppy mills. Now that time has passed, most of the bad breeders are gone and todays Chow is a much better representation of the breed than in the 1990's when Chows were high on the AKC popularity list. I'm not saying there aren't bad breeders out there but what I have seen lately gives me hope that the breed will continue to do well.
I'm glad you were able to find Riley. He's a handsome boy and I'm sure he's a lot of fun too.

I don't think its too much. Riley looks healthy. Chows almost never over eat to the point of getting fat. I leave kibble out all the time. I've had Chows since 1986 and I've always fed that way. My Chows get meat everyday in the evening. I would make sure you feed at least the recommended amount for his age. He's growing quickly right now and needs a lot of nutrition. My girl Misha is almost 9 months and she weighs 62 pounds. She's a big girl but not overweight. Her dad is over 80 pounds.

You have beautiful dogs and Riley is most definitely all chow and a very handsome chow too. :D

My chows are not from the US either....we live in Scotland. The photo of your town is beautiful! :D
