ChowChow.org Forum Update

Post by chowadmin »

Hello everyone,

I've completed the latest phpBB forum software update to version 3.0.10 which includes various bug fixes along with some minor enhancements. The update appears to have gone smoothly, I haven't noticed any issues browsing around. However if you do notice any issues please post them here and I'll look into it.

phpBB 3.0.10 Change log: http://www.phpbb.com/support/documents. ... ion=3#v309

It cuts the picture. I mean it crops the picture. I doNt kknow if this has relevance in browsing experience. Just thought you might want to know. (i flipped the photo and then tried pasting the code but same cropped image results so I let go.Later when I went browsing, i saw the flipped photo and cut too, pasted on the original photo which was cropped (not by me or photobucket)

Leaping about

Post by Sirchow »

I dont know what is going on with the site but every time I move my mouse or type the whole page leaps about. It is making it difficult to click on posts and it never used to do this...is it just me? :(

I was searching for this post and then thought maybe it had been added here. I dont know why but the page I am on jumps up and down most of the time and if I try to scroll up and down it leaps around in a most unsettling manner. Sometimes when I type it does it then too whether I am on laptop or iphone :(

I have a desk top computer and I've had the same problems. The pages jumping up and down and it is difficult to scroll to get where I want to go. When I click on a post it seems to take forever for it to come up. When I post or submit a reply - again it seems to take forever before I know if it was accepted. Furthermore - what really puts the icing on the cake I write a post or reply, click on "submit" and up comes the screen "Web page has expired" G-R-R-R

Thanks for the posts. If I'll try to see if I can recreate it. Can you provide any additional info such as:
- Platform: PC, Mac, iPad
- Browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
- URL of page

Also any screen grabs are helpful too.

Well I've been able to recreate it with Firefox on the Mac, however I'm not seeing it with Google Chrome or Safari, nor on the iPad1 or iPad2. It appears to be the Facebook Like button that might be part of the problem. It's expanding the top bar space to a larger height an then collapsing to the default height once loaded. I should be able to fix it.

Okay, I've made a few tweaks to the template with the share buttons and I'm not seeing the jumping in Firefox anymore. Can you please confirm that you are no longer experiencing it? Or if you are, please let me know, provide as much detail as possible, thanks.

All good for me now, thank you. :D
One slightly strange thing which may have been done on purpose but when the little chow pic at the top of the page changes it kind of turns into slices which change a bit at a time....is that intentional?
