Hi,
I read your post about visiting the Santa Cruz area with your Chowling. I can vouch for the Lighthouse Beach and Lighthouse Field dog parks. The beach for dogs is open before 10AM and after 4PM. The park is directly across from it. We have enjoyed watching the many dogs and their owners playing in the surf. We haven't brought our two there but think these two places are perfect for meeting other dogs and their owners. From the lighthouse, you can also walk along West Cliff drive which takes you to Natural Bridges State Beach Park. It is a bit of a walk so you'll need to judge how much of it you and your Chowling can handle.
Hope you have a chance to visit there and have fun!

I looked into it and I agree that the lighthouse field looks wonderful! It's looks like we will be trying to go early so we can hit up the beach too. Thanks so much for posting the times! I already mapquested it, so if Nanuk is good with it we will spend our extra day in Santa Cruz. Either way I will post some pic's when we get home.
