Just a quick post to get everybody talking and to hopefully help to eradicate the negative stereotype that cones with chows. I know that I won't do this but it'll be nice for people to see that chows are actually really nice dogs and make wonderful pets in the right hands....

What is everybody's favourite thing about chows? What makes us love them so much?
I know what mine is. The fact that my lily is never too far away and that look that she gives which no other breed can give. That absolute devotion and the love that I feel from her is something that I just couldn't even begin to describe.

I love the chows loyalty and their abiliity to be stoic and commanding while able to show their goofy side to those of us so priviledged to see it.

I love their stubborness and their intelligence, their independence. Their loyalty that makes them more of companions, true partners than "pets"

I love how that you don't own a chow, they own you.
My husband favorite saying is "who has who trained". We have proudly been owned by 9 gorgeous, very spoiled chows in my lifetime.

The thing I adore about MY Chow is she is such a curmudgeon. She will not be made to look the fool! I gave her a fish oil capsule last night, and I must have mis-presented it. It dropped on the floor, and I got a look of WTH. Lily sniffed, and turned and walked away from me (I was sitting at the computer), leaving the capsule where it landed. I turned back to the computer, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Lily quietly walk back and pick up the cap, then stealth away again!
