Furkids are getting a Nanny!

Post by bama »

No, no, it isn't Nanny 911!!!
Actually, I've just hired a new personal assistant to help me out around the house and with the furkids.
She is a young lady named, Hannah. Hannah's first day will be tomorrow, (Monday 6/1).
First things, first... on her first day, all we are going
to do is bonding. Colonel has to understand that Hannah is SUPPOSED to be here, so that in my
absence, he will allow her in the house!
More to report later!!

That should be interesting! I will watch this space to see how it goes as we are having a teenager come in at lunch time to walk our two when we are on holiday and it is my worry that Bramble wont let her in the house if we are not here.

That is funny.. Nikki goes to a house that has 3 border collies that do agility training 24/7.. Nikki is no agility dog but she goes to the border collie agility meets with the other 3 and the trainer says its so funny cause they look at Nikki like she really does not belong here. She doen't have black and white spots .. ????But she loves trying and shes exhausted when she comes home. She usually sleeps for a day or 2.. This person has worked wonderfully with watching Nikki while we're gone..I sure hope that Bramble and Colonel realize they are to let these people in to help.. they all sound so furious when someone comes to the door don't they.. Yeah! We have lift off!!! Colonel loves his new nanny!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
In fact, all four furkids love her! The biggest surprise is our cat Mojo???
Some of you may remember, Mojo was a feral cat someone tossed out
here along the river. It tooks me months to capture her! Anyway....
before yesterday, Mojo has allowed only Mark and me to pet her, but when Hanny the Nanny
walked up to her, she didn't run away.....she purred and did figure 8's around Hannah's legs!!
This is wonderful!!!
The main reason I hired Hannah was to help with the furkids, because currently,
I'm unable to take Princess Buttercup and Colonel on their much beloved walks,
After introducing Hannah...Colonel has been a complete angel O:) O:)
and walks politely with Hannah and Princess Buttercup!!!!

Our first day was spent on nothing but bonding including a dry run to the vet, so Hannah could see
where she needed to take them in an emergency. We also went to the pet store
to get a visual of Solid Gold dog food, should we have a dog food crisis!!!
She loves animals and it shows!!! I feel so fortunate to have found her!!!
To those of you considering having someone over to doggie sit, I strongly recommend
first, a day of bonding with you, the furkids and the sitter, all together.
I believe it is well worth the money! Also, I believe it is
imperative to find someone who really loves animals, otherwise the furkids will pick up on it.
I know it's not an easy find, I feel very blessed and relieved to have found Hannah!!
Good luck to you guys on your doggie sitters!!
I think the true test will be........bath day!!!

So glad it is working out. Hannah sounds ideal and it is great that the furkids have taken to her so quickly. They know! =D= =D=

I wish we could find someone like that for Gracie. Last year Gracie made friends with a lady I met at school. When she came over, Gracie would lay on the sofa next to her (touching her), we took them for walks with my friend walking Gracie. Gracie loves her. We went to St. Louis one day, all excited because we could take our time because we have someone who Gracie loves that can walk her and take her out to potty. No deal. Gracie REFUSED to let Shelia anywhere near her. All is well as long as I'm at home, then Gracie is her bestest friend, but if I'm not home, Shelia does not have Gracie's permission to take her out. Wanna share your nanny with me? :)

Sweet Pea, thanks for the heads up on that! I'm thinking I should leave the house to see how the furkids do with Hanny the Nanny,
while I'm gone? We'll see how that works out?
Stay tuned!
