Titus - Sad, yet so proud!

Post by Theo »

I have to share! I’m sad, but I’m also so proud of Titus.

My mom passed away last week. It had been six weeks since Titus saw her (from the onset of her illness, rehab and her final hospital stay).

Titus and his Grandma were very close. She lived with us. She loved him so much, and always smiled when she would talk about him.
They kept each other company when we were not home!

After her horrific diagnosis Hospice became involved. We brought her home.
As soon as she was back in her room, Titus immediately ran up the steps, put his paws on her bed, and proceeded to jump in bed with her! GRANDMA WAS HOME!
They were so happy to see each other!

Titus’ daily job was to meet/greet the Hospice workers, guide them up the steps to her room, stay in the room while they assisted Grandma, then escort them to the door as they left. He did this for six days, allowing everyone to pet and love him.

We were all with her (including Titus) when she passed away peacefully.

The Hospice workers fell in love with him. They pulled me aside and advised me to keep a close eye on him. He will be grieving her loss as well.

We had to travel to Philly for her funeral; we found a Pet friendly hotel. We took him with us.

I am so very proud of my sweet little boy. So loyal. So sweet. He takes such wonderful care of his family!
Thanks for letting me share.

What a sweet boy Titus is. You must both be so sad at the loss of your Mum. I know how empty that feels as I lost my Mum recently too. It is as though there is a space with nothing in it and when you turn in your mind to the emptyness you are jolted everytime when you remember your Mum is no longer there. Slowly you and Titus will get used to her being gone and the memories will become a great comfort. Give Titus a hug from me and Bramble and take care of yourself. [:D] xxx

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. What an angel Titus is! I'm sure he made your mom's final days so much more pleasant with him around. Since you made him a part of everything, I hope he will not grieve quite as much. My sympathies to all of you.

Thanks so much to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me!

It's been tough, but as we all know, time heals all.

We are truly blessed to have our Titus. He is so special!
I received a card today from all the Hospice workers expressing their condolences.
Each wrote a note, and they all included Titus as a family member!

Hugs to all of you! Thanks again!

Jackie, I am so sorry about your mother and please give Titus a hug from us. He will miss her but he will understand - they truly are wonderful creatures, Chows are.
M & M loved their Granny and missed her when she died and Zhuyo loved his granny too and his Mom told me he and Miss PB grieved when she died.
Bless him, what a good, good boy Titus is. [:D] [:D]

I want to offer my condolences to both of you who have lost thier Mummy's. It's something I can't bear to think about to go through, yet I know one day my Mum will pass too. Titus will share your grief with you and you will both support each other through this very difficult time. My heart goes out to you and I send my love through cyber space to you.
