The stars aligned this week and my husband, and a blind chow were looking for voids to fill. Now it is up to Milo. Red is coming to spend the weekend with us.

That is wonderful news. I am certain Milo will completely understand. Hey, who wouldn't like a buddy? Milo will do great.

We made it thru our first night, he woke me up at 3 am to go potty, so that was great, his name is Red, he is somewhere between 4 and 6 years, totally blind in right eye, probably 50% or less in left eye. He is being treated for heartworm and hasn't been neutered yet. He is not a purebred, been in and out of foster care since December. We have jealousy issues, food issues, but I don't anything we can't solve. The food issues could just be because, to me he seems very thin. He has a healthy appetite! Yesterday was supposed to be his last day on earth, just weird how it all happened. John thought Milo needed a brother and well Milo it appears has a brother!

Me thinks this is the begining of an amazing story. I am sure you will find ways to overcome the food issues and when Red realises that food will always appear in the quantity he needs he will start to relax over it. I am filled wth admiration and some jealousy. I had wanted to addopt a chow in a rescue in England but Tony was sure that the status quo we have achieved in our house was best left alone. I really hope it all works out for you guys and.....where are the pictures?

Red sounds like he has had such a tentative exsistence of late. I think he understands this as well. Once he feels everyone relax, so will he. Also, de-baubling him will help a small measure. It sounds like the worse case scenerio is separate treats and feeding. No big whoop there. It sounds like congratulations are in order...and photos!

What a story this is, thank you Debra, John and Milo for saving this Chow Boy. It was truly meant to be. Having Cindy living in your town was the last piece of the puzzle. Debra you will have to tell the entire story when you get a chance

Ahhhhhh now I understand! Apparently it can't be done till he is done with HW treatment. If we are approved to keep him we are going to try and get him into our vet next week.
