RE: Looking for help among experienced Dog Fanciers.
My husband, Mark and I have our house on the Market for sale and don't know where we will be going. It looks like we will be going
to Arkansas. Chances are we will temporarily rent a house, till we find land and build a new house.
So, for rental home purposes, Colonel will be subject to the Land Lord assessment.
Since Colonel is a rescue from a county shelter, Colonel came with NO papers of any kind describing his breed, I thought I would present him to you professionals to see if you feel there is a possibility Colonel could be Finnish Spitz or Finnish Spitz mix?
To our best ability, Mark and I feel that Colonel is really a Finnish Spitz.
All of you who agree with me, please intial under the photo.
Your input will be submitted to a potential landlord and is greatly appreciated.
You can cut and past this and email me at SherillMcgee@yahoo.com

I vote for Euraisier too, they can have dark tongues too, just like our chows. though you may want to trim Colonel's mane a bit because Euraisiers don't have such large ones.
You know this is really sad that we have to lie about what breed our chows are...

Re: Help- need signatures...wink
The colonel is obviously a Euraiser, or perhaps a mix of Euarasier and finish spitz.
Re: Help- need signatures...wink
It is obvious to me that he is your daughter's dog, and he comes over now and then...but yeah he is definitely a Blue tongued Eurasier (we 'uns inna south jus' calls 'em Blue Racers...)Dogdad wrote:The colonel is obviously a Euraiser, or perhaps a mix of Euarasier and finish spitz.

A Standard Pomeranian? You know those Standard Pomeranian are not as inbred as a regular Pomeranian. ( No offense to the Standard Poodle people)

Re: Help- need signatures...wink
I doubt most landlords would have any idea of most breeds other than the top 10 - even then they wouldn't know what they looked like...so Euraiser is not well-known so they will most likely look at the top 10 list, not see Euraiser, and let it go at that ...anyway, how many landlords actually check out the dog? You can tell them you have a lab and they will be happy and never check it out...

I was going to say a Pom as well....a REALLY well fed Pom.debraschow wrote:A Standard Pomeranian? You know those Standard Pomeranian are not as inbred as a regular Pomeranian. ( No offense to the Standard Poodle people)
Debra
Or...go with a Pom/Mastiff mix...my old vet used to tell me stories of strange mixes of the little & big dogs getting jiggy-wit-it.
Re: Help- need signatures...wink
He is absolutely gorgeous.I had one that looked just like him in the 90's.He was a wonderful dog.I miss him to this day.
Re: Help- need signatures...wink
Hmm, how about a pom-spitz-shar pei mix (to cover the blue tongue)?

Looks like a Eurasier to me....... or a really humungaous Pom mixed with Shar Pei
http://www.canadasguidetodogs.com/eurasier.htm
Oh, I have always thought that the picture of him in your sig holding the football on the right made him look like a pom. Maybe you could use that one? No tongue there...

Hi there, I sent an email (from kbuchan5@hotmail.com), feel free to change what I said to match whatever you're "going with", I pegged him as an Euraiser/spitz...I'm realizing how lucky we are here in Nova Scotia that I won't come accross this type of issue, I hope all works out for you in the end. Take care, happy building!

Re: Help- need signatures...wink
He does look like a Eurasier.
Last time I moved Jasmine was a "Japanese Foo Dog/Spitz type, vet can't be sure as she was a rescue dog so no lineage available". Landlord saw her and said "oh, she looks a bit like a Chow. My son's girlfriend had a Chow, a very mean dog. But I guess Chows have flat faces, don't they?" Um, ya. Thats right....
I vote for Eurasier/Spitz mix, since you can't be sure. No papers and all, you know.

I for real laughed out loud yesterday at my desk when I read "Standard Pomeranian"... hilarious, and even more so because if said with enough conviction, you could sooooooo pull that one off.debraschow wrote:A Standard Pomeranian? Thanks all, I like the way you think!!!! I'm so glad you guys understand!!!
My Eura-Pom-mastiff-Shar-pei Japanese Foo Fighting spitz Blue racing sled dog "old pound dawg" is hooked on blueberries, thus the blue tongue!!
Sean....I don't even want to hear any of "those" stories!
Mark went to Arkansas today to write an offer on a nice house with 5 acres, so hopefully we won't have to deal with landlords at all!!
I have only seen photos of this house! What the heck? All I know is, there is no fenced yard, so once more, Mark gets to build a fence for the furkids to do their business in safety!
Hopefully, we will know in a couple of weeks where Colonel and his sisters are going to live!
