New Baby

Hello everyone. I am so glad to find this forum. Our family has been blessed with a beautiful baby girl chow chow puppy. We picked her up from the airport last night. She is a lovely dark creme color and is about 8 weeks old. My children named her Katie. We are trying to crate train her but my kids never want to leave her in the crate! She has been everywhere with us today and is finally acting tired. This forum is great and I surely appreciate all the great contributions from everyone, being a first time chow mommy!

Good luck with Katie. Chows are wonderful dogs. They are not like other dogs and will reward you with years of love and devotion.

Thanks, everyone for your encouragement! Our first dog was an Afghan Hound who passed away last September at 16 1/2 years old. This is our first Chow Chow and we love her to pieces!
Going to bed now before getting up with Katie for the 2 AM potty break!

Congrats on your new baby and welcome! We love pictures!...lol. When I got my Shelby, my kids wouldn't let her stay in the crate either, so for the first couple of days I just held her while she slept and put her in the crate at night. Good luck!
