I would but its to hot for sweaters in CA, a ski cap made from the fur would be great. Humm, that didn't make much sence did it, to hot for a sweater so make a ski cap, never mind.

I inadvertantly wear enough of their fur so I voted no. Those tape lint picker-uppers can only handle so much. :(

YES! YES! YES!

I've 3 bag full of LEO's brushings. I also ask the groomer to rescue whatever they can, usually just a handful... LEO is 2.5yrs old....It's going to be a long while yet before I can get anything to cover me....

Those mittens are awesome and so is the sweater idea. I was thinking something simple like stuffing a pillow with undercoat, lol. I have a chow book given to me by Nova's breeder when we got her and it shows ladies knitting a chow sweater. Too hot now for it, but I'm sure Mari would love one for the winter.

I got an idea, what about a Chow sweater for those little rat dogs, yappers (no offense) you all have as compamions for your Chows. Don't they need sweaters all the time for the cold.

Steel and roxy come to mind.

As for those with multiple Chows, you could have stripes, or nice accent colors! They blend it with lamb wool for fibre strength. I thought that calendar sweater the chow was wearing which I posted in Coco's grooming post is a lovely style- but I have been told I have old lady taste in clothes. I think a nice knit tam would be nice!

LOL, Layla and Auddymay, :D I like the stripe idea! :D

Coco Chow, hubby asked me to keep all of Special Dark's undercoat for a pillow or a blanket, kind of like a "chowdown" comforter. :D I would love a sweater though, even leaning against him in the winter months warms me up!

I wear enough fur on me now  , so having a jumper knitted wouldnt be to bad, think it would be soft and warm. My clothes brush always gets a work out.

I will have tons of black fur by mid May. I should weave a coat for the little white yapper/rugrat. Would that hurt Mikki chow's feelings?

I think chows don't smell like "wet dogs" after the rain.
I love Coco's smell. 8)

I Don't think I would wear one, I have enough dog hair on me already. I save Yoshi's and Maxwell's hair and in the spring, I put it outside in the trees and the birds use it for their nests. They love chow hair. I also save some for my own indoor birds, canaries and finches. They prefer using chow hair over anything else.

I'd love one as long as I didn't have to wash, comb, weave......

It would be a wonderful reminder of them after they are gone!

I'd thought about saving fur since we get at least enough for a pillow every time we brush them, but I got a little overwhelmed. I do have a piece of Sullivan's fur in a locket. When we studied hair last year, I brought in a bag for the kids to guess what it was, then I brought in the dogs for them to match. Charlie would never wear a chow sweater. He's still the only one who won't wear his raincoat.
