Shy to poop....
Hello, I plan to take my chow on a road in the near future just up down in the Northeast. However, it never came to my attention but the more I thought of it my chow never poops while someone is there. He would only poop off leash and off in the corner when no one is around. I would try to find him ...

Hello, Me again!... I don't know if you are aware of my situation but just a recap... Chow 11months had bloody poop so had to put him on a chicken and rice diet till he got better. Its been a week now and he is doing fine so I am trying to transition him off of pure chicken and rice. When the little...

Re: Puppy classes?
I bought 4 training classes and I took my chow to 1 and haven't gone back since ~6months. It didn't really help, they taught us basics such as calling, crate, and other basic calls. To be honest my chow does what he wants but if I want him somewhere he knows because I will tap his butt. The name cal...

Re: How often do they shower?
I was also curious about this question and I got really confused by what I was reading. I bathe my chow once a month and his coat looks fine (he is only 10months) I am not experience chow owner by any means but we like him smelling nice. Not to mention I bathe him more since he goes to park quick of...

Yup, he went on a small animal kill frenzy (2 animals so far and all this week) =/ hopefully this does not make him attack random small dogs.

Re: blue buffalo puppy formula & prevent picky eater
Yeah, my guy doesn't like yogurt too since I tried putting that in his rotation. I will try cottage cheese next. Thanks for info. I will get him a small bag of puppy kibble + 1 big bag of adult and transition him off that way both same brand of course no violent diarrhea.

Re: Bloody poop...
Update on the chow.. He has been so much better lately no bloody poop but still on chicken&rice diet at the moment. I need to switch him off of blue buffalo. We try not to over feed him during the night time which we believe is the cause for the late night bathroom breaks. However he isn't a mor...

Yup, I was aware of the China jerky from a friend so I never bought anything made from China. I made sure this product was made in USA. I believe I am going to stay away from jerky in general unless its human grade.

Hello, This happened yesterday, my chow wanted to go outside around 1AM EST yet again which I let him out. He came back with a possum in his mouth which I quickly disposed of. He still kept on complaining about going out so I took him for a walk at 2AM for 30-40min. He came back in and still whined ...

My chow wont come to my calls..
Hello, My chow is a little over 9months and he would not listen to my calls. He is pretty bad with his name since its name Po and I believe it rhymes too much with Go and No. Anyway, so I would call him to come back inside he would not listen. He will think we are playing chase since when I come nea...

Hello, I took my Chow, Po, to the groomers this weekend to get him a cut so the hair wont be such a burden for him during warm weather. So I told her that I would like a trim in the back but please to leave ~1" of hair or more on his back side. So when I came back 2 hours later she gave him a l...

Keep paw and belly coat smelling nice..?
Hello, Lately in NJ its been raining quite frequently and my chow comes inside with wet paws and his belly fur. I would bring him in and wash his paws then towel and blow dry it but it would not smell as nice, it would smell like moldy water? I was wondering if there is anything shampoo or soap I ca...

Interceptor vs heartgard?
Hello,
Po is 8months now and he is almost done with his 6month of Heartgard, 2 more dosage left. I maybe a worrywart but I would want most protection for my little guy since he randomly eats poop in our backyard b/c of stray cats. Should I swap to Interceptor?
Thanks!

Re: Another Food Recall
My Chow has been on Orijen. I was also on the fence looking for an ideal brand for my chow. He is almost done on his 2nd big bag of this and plan to buy another 1-2 more since he is only 8months and I was advise don't take off puppy formula until 1year. Hope this helps but it was hard to find a loca...

Advice on making my chow move along =]
Hello, Me yet again! My little chow has been super well behaved! The nipping so far has stopped from what I've seen and he doesn't mind getting picked up when he is having fun in the backyard but I would need to catch him first. But the main issue is that he will refuse to come out of the car if we ...

Hello, It is me again and my chow is doing great but a new problem has came up. So its being getting warming here (New Jersey) and I believe he is shedding for his summer coat.
