Re: Chow Myth or Not?
I heard that Chows don't grow back their hair back, is this true, if they're shaved? If a large area is shaved right to the skin, it can disrupt the circadian communication in the hair follicles and cause post-clipping alopecia, sometimes for as long as two years. The section shaved on your Chow do...

...Chief is posessive over Steel and Roxi. They belong to him.... I was going to say that Steel looks like Chief's hostage in those pictures, and that a thought bubble over Steel's head would say, "help me, somebody help me please..." He really doesn't look happy/well to me, sorry. Almost...

The Blues do have faded masks, but Steel doesn't look well or happy in those pics. Chief probably feels threatened about pack hierarchy.chris wrote:does Steel look like he is getting old..or is it just me? LOL shhhhh... I didn't say that.

Kiwani, What do you think of Avoderm? What do you feed your dogs? Just curious because now I think Denny has chlostridium I've recommended an Avoderm formula to one of the members here. It doesn't seem to be available everywhere though. I've most often recommended Solid Gold "Wolf King" (...

...i just cant believe he did that at ten monthes of age. At ten months of age, your Chow would be going through the second 'fear phase' of his development. There are a lot of changes going on in his body, mentally and physically, including another big surge of testosterone if he's not neutered. If...

Here's the problem...the cream one isn't socialized AT ALL. She's snapped, growled and barked at me and the ladythat pulled her from the shelter. The cream malamute/mix might have been bonded to a male human, and might have had bad experiences with a female human (?) In any case, if she is blind, h...

This link mentions that the manufacturing plant has been closed permanently, and that it was the same facility closed for cleaning in 2007, also because of salmonella. (The 2007 closure is mentioned on your FDA link)

Re: Neutering Question: What to expect
His leg has been coming up for about 2 months now. I was so proud the day he stopped squatting.. The vet suggested 6 months but I wanted to wait a bit longer so that is why we waited till 8 months. Small breed dogs may be well developed by six months, but larger breeds take more time to develope jo...

What else should I think of? How long has he been hiking his leg consistently? Testosterone plays an important role in bone/muscle development/health too and there are testosterone surges as development progresses. There are archived threads concerning long term adverse effects of neutering too ear...
