Oh what beautiful pics. I don't know why but I thought all your nonchows were cockers. What breed is Maxine's playmate?

Re: Million Paws Walk
Hi Lychee, It was very nice of you to let your friend ride in your car. (Especially since your name is on the car). Did you drive or are you still letting Mom drive and you supervise? Great event, I like to walk. (Here's a trick I learned to make your walks last a little longer: When your mom makes ...

Re: Yoshi the fearless
Way to go Yoshi. I haven't caught any frogs yet. Don't know if we have any here. I have caught some bunnies, chipmunks, mice and what Dad thinks is a vole. Mom doesn't seem to appreciate these presents I leave on the brick patio for her. I think the critters are catching on though. Hasn't been hardl...

Re: omg He looks so much like Maxwell
Wow, David, he does look so much like Maxwell. But he will have his own personality, and whether that helps you heal or lengthens your grief, I'm not sure. In many ways your Maxwell and Yoshi remind me of my Chana and Tasha. They were sisters, borne of the same parents, a backyard breeder, one litte...

Re: New Pup!
Congratulations on both your graduation and the chowling! My chows have been easy to housebreak. I got my first chow when she was 12 weeks old and she never had an accident. She also had learned bite inhibition very well from her mom and siblings, which is an advantage of the pups staying together a...

Oh yes! He was quite upset with the rest of the four legged attendees, everytime they sped up above a walk. It was so obvious he was in charge.

Re: Does your chow chase butterflies?
Your garden is so beautiful. What a suitable backdrop for a beautiful chow! I haven't noticed any butterfly chasing but am planting a butterfly bush today so there will soon be more opportunities. My two chase squirrels, rabbits, chipmonks, and even smaller rodents. Teddy was kind enough to bring me...

Wow, it is so beautiful and they are having such a ball. What a boy to roll in the wet sand!!! Oh Layla, can I come and visit all of you? I have never been to the Northwest and your pictures make it look so appealing. And Millie and Alf are such wonderful pups. I think they could be models like Miss...

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
And Titus is a great representative for the breed. What a good boy he is.
Cinder sends Titus condolences on the loss of his Grandma. (She is tight with her Grandma too).

Re: Breathing Problems, and Loud Snoring
It is possible there is a problem and you should get the little one to vet to be checked out. However, I have had four chows and all of them snore very loudly. Some run (or at least their feet do) and talk in their sleep as well. Right now, Cinder and Teddy are both sleeping loudly, DH is snoring aw...

Cinder runs when the water goes on in the shower. Teddy just lies down on the bathroom floor and waits. Except once he made off with the bath mat and was sleeping on it in the bedroom when I got out of the shower.

Re: dad can we turn on the airconditioning
K & K, Teddy here: If you go see Yoshi and Maxine, please stop on the way by. We have had lots and lots of rain here and I can smell that Mom and Dad made fluffy dirt in the garden lately so it will be easy to get muddy. I can't get in there by myself because there is a fence, but I bet with you...

Re: are we there yet ?, are we there yet?, etc.....
I hate to admit it, but Teddy hasn't learned to like a walk yet. He prefers the safety of his own yard, mapped out in his head, he doesn't run into anything there. Cinder, on the other hand, believes that walks are both heaven on earth and her due. When her leash comes off the hook on the porch she ...

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Cayenne before today but grieve with you still. While it will be hard on you and your family, including Chewie, she was one of the lucky ones. S...

Re: Diarrhea / watery stool / followed with blood
Prednisone is a steriod. Steriods are often overused because their first effect is an obvious and quick resolution of a symptom. However, they seldom treat the root cause of any symptoms, can cause a host of side effects, require a gradual tapering off rather than an abrupt stop and IMHO, should be ...

Re: My 15 year old chowmix wont let me clip his nails
I agree with Elodie and bama, take the slow path. Desensitization will take time but be much more effective in the long run and no one should be injured. In the meantime, you need to take back the role of leader in your home. My chows are well loved, never hit or physically forced to do anything but...

How is the Chow Chow Parisian Princess Coco doing? It is almost undoubtedly harder on you than on her. She will come through this just fine. You are a good chow mom for getting her the attention she needs to be a healthy happy girl. Cinder and Teddy both had surgery and both look like chows, not bas...

I definitely wish you luck. Going back to school after 40 isn't easy (personal experience) but our ability to focus on what is important is so much improved over that of the traditional student.
