Re: My New Boy coming home next week
Not so much true. Christina has posted in the community section where it states that chow owners can discuss anything.andomozed wrote:Christina...This isn't the place to practice personal blogging.

Re: Thoughts?
I actually saw this post last night and was thinking about this poor senior chow. Made me extremely sad to think a senior dog needs a home and his life all boils down to money. I looked on the web site this morning thinking maybe if I paid by credit card this would help her to adopt. That being said...

Re: This is Ming's little Storm Terror"Fear Blanket"
Hahaha. I don't think i've laughed that hard in a long time. I'm not laughing at Mings fear of the storms. That's totally not funny. I'm laughing because he is so stinkin cute. I'm glad the "fear blanket" helps with the scaries. What a good chow mum you are

Nope, I do not clean Matilda's ears. Unless there is a reason such as ear infection, and recommended by vet I would leave them alone.

Re: Can Chows eat fresh cooked turkey?
Matilda will of course get fresh turkey on Thanksgiving:-) I would see no reason why she wouldn't be able to eat it. Most nights for dinner we usually either put a little chicken, steak, fish or beef mixed in with her dog food. It's actually interesting because i mix the fresh food in with her dog f...

Re: NOT SURE IF I AM GETTING SCAMMED!! NEED YOUR OPINIONS
Christina chow mum I want to cry every time I read Mings journey. So incredibly sad. Thank goodness your paths crossed. Ming sounds like he's living a royal life. As he should. On a side note My Matilda who is 2.5 years came from a byb. I didn't pay much for her, but I probably would have paid whate...

Re: Help! Entropion!!!
I like the harness type leads the best. Much easier on them and doesn't cause choking, or messes with their beautiful fur. Also, they tend to pull less. As she gets older and stronger I switched to a harness called easy walk or gentle lead. This helps with the pulling. As far as treats go just give ...

Re: Need Help with a behavior issue with my chow
It sounds like she definitely is getting the exercise she needs. I'm sorry I don't have much to offer about the tearing things up at night. Boredom??? Matilda roams the house at night also, but she doesn't tear stuff up. She is mostly keeping watch of the house. The pooping issue the only thing that ...

Re: Vaccines???
Does Matilda go to doggie daycare or in dog parks frequently?. Thanks chunkeymonkey for the advice. Matilda does not go to dog parks or daycare. It is hard to stand your ground because they (vets office) makes you feel like your doing something horrible by not giving the booster shots. But I'm goin...

Re: My New Boy coming home next week
My sister in law use to date a gentlemen that had a chow named Samson and this chow was the biggest chow i've ever seen. He weighed in at nearly 90 + lbs. He was a beauty. Looked like a lion, but gentle as a lamb. He got him in Germany when he was active in the military. My Matilda weighs in at a wh...

Vaccines???
I would like the opinions of others as to vaccinations. The reason I ask is because I took my cat in this morning because she has a UTI. The receptionist promptly said Matilda was past due on her booster shots and she would like to set an appt. for her. Matilda is 2.5 years had all her puppy shots a...

15 weeks or 15 months? I just noticed on another post with regards to a heart murmur you listed Igor as 15 months. By the way, how is he adjusting to his new home?Redbone wrote:15 weeks

Re: Stud contract - Questions
Cam atis, I think after thinking about it you hit the nail on the head. What was bothering me was the description of the breeding. Not the breeding itself. The description of holding her head and her howling made me sick. I can't imagine intentionally hurting my chow. The way you explained it seemed...

Re: Stud contract - Questions
No way in h*** would I put my female threw this. Your description was a little to much information. I know breeding is just a fact of life. I get it. But there are ton of chows that need to be rescued from dire situations. Just my opinion. Otherwise, your opinion and comment is irrelevant. FYI- Thi...

. I might as well include that people cannot call themselves Animal lovers unless they are Vegetarians; if they are not Vegetarians then they are Hippocrates.
