Re: What's the difference?
You do have judges that like something heavier, especially in a male. You can have a more closed face and still have clear eyes as this dog does. This is Ch. Lorays Trial By Fire.

Re: What's the difference?
Judges have their preferences just like everyone else. Many do like a more moderate chow. Here is a picture of Ch. Mateo's Grace Under Fire CGC. A very moderate bitch that finished easily.

Re: Is he undersized?
<<I checked at the vet a few days ago,she said Hugo was undersized,he is only 15kg and he's 6mo ?Is this the normal weight of a 6mos Chow puppy>> As long as he is eating ok and acting fine I wouldn't worry. If he feels thin I would increase his food. I have had Chows that weighed 38lbs full grown an...

<<Has anyone ever dealt with huzzahcreekkennels.com?>> I have not dealt with this kennel, and after looking at their website I would not consider a dog from them. They are breeding stickly pet quality dogs, with no health clearances. After seeing the pictures I have to wonder the conditions that the...

<,Can an open faced chow come from a breeding of 2 closed face chows>> It is very possible to get a more moderate head from 2 heavier head chows. You have to remember to look at all the dogs in the pedigree, not just the sire and dam. There are many breeding for show that prefer a more moderate head...

[quote="Adonis's Mommy"]My older dog who is 4 months is tugging or pulling / playing with our 9 week old puppies ears which aren't up yet. If your older dog gets too rough it may permanently damage the puppys ear. Possibly causing a hematoma that would require surgery. I know serveral peop...

Re: Finding a puppy
But if you're going to hand money over to a breeder, you should be fully informed before you do this. I also want to know about how well the pup adheres to the breed standard. I want to know this because breed standards are vitally important to the continuation of a breed - without adherence to a st...

New to list
Hi all, I'm new to your list. I've had a love affair with Chows for over 30 years. I'm looking forward to meeting other people that love the breed as much as I do.
