Julia, that's horrible, and to be quite honest, if someone came to my house and asked me to put Sid outside my answer would be NOPE. Now, I have put Sid's Gentle Leader on him when a lot of people are here because he gets to wound up and he behaves better with it on, but that's as far as the comprom...

YaY Millie, you're such a good girl, you show 'em how smart a Chow REALLY is. ;) You're lucky you got to socialize with the other dogs. We couldn't talk to each other and couldn't even "greet" each other.. HOW WRUDE!

Sid Vicious.. xoxoxo

Do you leave the crate door open during these times? I would close the crate first. OH, one of our homework assignments (basic obedience) was to be able to get down on 1 or both knees, wrap one arm around the neck and the other arm around the body and "hug" our dogs for 1 minute. If they s...

Haley, it's fun to hear the other side of things! :) When my daughter used to say things like that to me I would totally turn it into a laugh session.. She would tell me.. "shut up".. I would look at her and go "No, you shut up".. She would say "No, you shut up".. this ...

Thanks Melanie.. It IS fun, I'm having a blast and Sid really does seem to like all the attention and FOOD he's getting. The instructor did give us this really cool article on why a dog will do better with a trainer then he/she will with their "parent" A really cool article and it actually...

hmmmmmm... On Oct 31st, I took Sid to the Vet so he could spend the night (they have a place called Petite Suites). I had a wedding to plan and attend and I didn't want Sid to be home alone for that long. Well, when Sid and I arrived they said "Cherie, he can't stay because he's overdue for his...

My Dad is my inspiration for eating healthy. In the past year and a half he's lost over 100 pounds. He's 5 11 and weighs 157. His DR told him to stop losing weight so now he's just maintaining his current weight. Now, my dad turned 71 today. He does not take any medication, no high blood pressure, n...

LOL!! I don't think I'll EVER be able to let Sid go anywhere off leash! I can just picture it now.. Here we go, off to PetCo.. We get inside and I let Sid off his leash expecting him to stay close. I turn around, just for a second, and Sid has vanished. I freak out and start calling his name and run...

I know exactly how you're feeling! Sid really does have separation anxiety (according to the vet) so I drop him off at my parents every morning on my way to work. (they babysit).. WELL, my parents travel and are on one of their trips right now. They live close to where I work so I still drop Sid off...

First Basic Obedience Class - As promised..

I like this basic obedience stuff. I like that the instructor says "I'm here to train the HUMANS".. YAY, just what I needed! OK, why didn't anyone tell me that I had to have some sort of coordination and know my left from my right. LOL. I am having the hardest time trying to use both hands...

And right you are Haley! Pet domesticated brown Rats live in healthy cages and get petted and loved. My daughter had them growing up, but she watched me catch those nasty little field mice in traps. NOW she feeds white mice to her snake. LOL.. Is that a modified "circle of life?"..

Well, now I know more then one person skipped the word "negative"...

I, for one, do not want some high profile animal rights lawyer hunting Sid down and helping him sue me for getting him neutered.

quoted from an article I found... There is a movement in this country to give more rights to animals that could have very negative results. For example: There are several animal rights groups trying to get the same rights awarded to animals that humans enjoy. If this is achieved then we would not ha...
