Rhiannon, thank you for letting us know. I just can't help crying. Milly was a wonderful girl and she will be dearly missed by us all. Our deepest condolences to you, Judy, Fred & Mabel. Oh, I want to be there to hug you in person. I am so sorry.

Re: Chows rescured from a rescurer
If you don't see the relevance, too bad. Enough said from me on the matter. Best of luck w/ your rescue tournament this w/e. I donate mainly locally, but you might find some well wishers on the site as well if you put a thread up as event info and general call for help. I hope you find this relevant...

Re: Chows rescured from a rescurer
Merlin, if you are going to accuse someone, have the courtesy to site the reason for accusation at the same time. Don't accuse now and bring the evidence later at your convenience out of arrogance or laziness. If you are too busy, hold your tongue till you have enough time to the old thread at hand....

Re: Chows rescured from a rescurer
I totally missed the original thread, so had a read just now. What a sad story. Reading back, I don't think "the administration of this forum" had sent much of a poor message either, tho. I read it as a person with a good heart somehow got sick. There were some tell-tale signs which weren'...

Oh, but Judy, Milly Ching is just doing her duty! She is protecting you from the little rodents. You should be proud of her! LEO certainly approves of Milly's moves. She would even run & swim over to the Island if I told her there are squirrels and hedgehogs there.  LEO's the squirrel...

So sad, so mad. I had tears in my eyes watching the video and felt dizzy afterwards.... How can anyone do this to anyone/anything?

Re: Dried food advice please (my head hurts!)
Ziwi Peak is great food if you could afford it. I have had samples and LEO loves them. We are in the US, so I fed SolidGold WolfCub as LEO's base kibbles, then WolfKing after turning one. Whichever brand you choose, go for LARGE BREED PUPPY FORMULA , to avoid too quick growth which can put pressure ...

As others have said, DON'T make her go in the crate. Crate should be a nice comfortable retreat to sleep and relax in. Set an easy access place for do her business either by using plastic + newspapers w/ a bit of her wee smell on or easier still go commercial and just buy puppy training pads. Have i...

Re: which harness ?:o)
I think it depends on whether your chow is a puller or plopper downer. If your baby is a puller then gentle leader is a very good harness. LEO doesn't pull that much - unless she sees something that she wants to go after like, squirrel, raccoon, skunk, a dog..... Anyways, for me pulling her up on he...

I assume you are in the US? You have your location field blank..... I don't know if there is a vet that specializes in Chows as such, but as a starter for finding a better vet, take a look at this link of AAHA and try finding a vet near your area. main page: http://www.aahanet.org/index.aspx to find...

Re: Yogi vs Skunk
DON'T use tomato juice!!! Unless you want a pink chow. #-o LEO got skunked about two, three years ago. She got it on her face. Good thing her eyes were closed but her mouth wasn't. It happened at around 10:30 at night, I was out and as I drove back I smelled skunk in the neighbourhood. Little did I ...
