I know... why make a chow look like a poodle. It's silly. It's not like they've even done it to make him cool, it's just for cosmetic reasons, but it just looks silly.

Somebody posted this picture on Facebook the other day. I think it's a chow from China. I think it's horrible how anybody could do this to a gorgeous chow is beyond me

Also, if your chow is cream, it does take a lot longer to go dark. Lily's tongue is still getting darker, and she's 16 months old. I'm just saying this, because I don't know what colour your chow is.

If you post a picture, a lot of us on here know whether or not surgery will be needed. Tear stains can indicate entropion, which is where the eye lids fold inwards and cause the eyelashes to rub the surface of the eye. Post a picture, and we may be able to help more.

Good luck!! Hope it goes really well... you will find it tough when she is away, but she will be fine I was restless whilst lily was away following her surgery for her cruciate ligaments. Will be thinking of you. Let us know how it goes!!

Our neighbor has a cat, and our gardens are separated by a small wire mesh fence. Lily isn't quite smart enough to pick her back legs over the fence, but that cat will just sit there, staring, hissing and laughing at lily, knowing that she won't be able to get to her. I dread to think what would hap...

It's way too far to go by train. When we went to pick lily up, we took a train and she got so stressed, she hates them. I can't put her through that for 4 hours.

I'm not sure katie. Haven't heard anything back from Chrissy, so it doesn't look like that is going ahead, which is understandable. I don't think I am gonna be able to make it.

Nancy, I feel for you. When my mum and her now husband first met, me and my brother were left with the task of looking after his dog.
