I'm sure Charlie's seen a vet. Unless it was a home neutering! No, but you're right. If he continues to be down, maybe have a blood test at some point.

Another thing is, what if the puppy barks all day long? The neighbours are going to complain sooner rather than later and then you have no plan B.

Another problem is, once the couch stinks of pee, it's a designated pee-pee place. So you'll have to try and completely un-stink it, which is going to be difficult. Urine is nasty!

That's not a Chow thing, that is a dog thing! It's how they cover their tracks so predators can't follow them. And there's Chow cleanliness. Loo would never defile his own garden by pooping in it.
