Thanks, all. I remember how frustrating it was to have this story, and no one to understand or appreciate how difficult it was to bring Sophie back to the world. Most people would say, "You got her in the HOUSE? Why didn't you hog tie her and take her to the vet to be spayed immediately? She's ...

By way of introduction.... (Sophie's story)

I started working with her when I was feeding a stray cat in hopes of finding it a home. One morning, I threw open the curtains and found a white arctic wolf polishing off the cat’s di...

Jeff's right... you won't find a better resource for practical chow knowledge than this site. I wish I had found it when I was blundering around trying to get information to help my rescue chow, Sophie. Fortunately, it worked out fine for us and I didn't make too many mistakes. She avoided it like it was radioactive for weeks. I was so outdone. Tried putting her treats on it so she would see that it was for her. N...

My Sophie has no interest in an open window, and no interest in riding shotgun, but loves to "surf" like Lily does.
Great pictures. She's such a glamour girl!

Sophie will be thrilled to find out her once a month regime is too extreme! She thinks the bathtub is a medieval torture device, poor girl.

Now, if I could just get her from trying to befriend the skunk population, her life would be near perfect!

Hi! I'm new here, too. I can understand how you can get confused by "what the books say"...I have read that a bath once a month is fine, some sources say three baths a year is more than enough. If you ask my chowgirl Sophie, one bath per year is too much (she hates a bath). She gets the on...
