Re: BSL up in NC

Not only is the chow breed a victim of that 20 year study of dog bite stat, the chow is also a victim of wrong breeding resulting in poor health. What's more? Bad publicity. A chow can pack a bite given the muscle but they are not what they are described. Yes they bite without a warning growl or bar...

Re: Lap Dogs!!

Cassie's show of affection is squeezing herself in under my legs if i am sitting and stays there until I get up and then she'll follow me. She'd give my hand purple kisses sometimes.
I cherish those times as usually she is on her own.

Re: A misunderstood chow.

Updates: I stayed in the city for four days and one of my agenda is to try see the male chow. so I was able to finally see him on my last day!!! Like trying to launch a one last push after daily requests to the secretary to see him. what's more I was able to get the lady vet's number since she was t...

Re: Rottweilers?

Agree with what Victory has said. All of it. They are bred to guard and well, attack if they must. Rotts are forceful and strong, you'll flex all your muscle to pull back. I only know a rott from a distance coz I dont want to get close - just like Victory - she is Owned by a friend's friend. That on...

Re: Need Help.

I have no problem with her coat on these brands. She did have a sort of allergy when way low quality such as beef pro and Pet One. She had a bald spot on the back. It stopped when our supply of Holistic arrived. She on theow quality diet for two weeks due to delayed shipment.

Re: Need Help.

Dogfood brands listed here like Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin are already BEST brands in my country but in US it is regarded by the members here who are from US as low quality dog food. So from my country, middle priced range are Eukanuba, Holistic Recipe and Pedigree. There are way low qualtiy b...

Re: Blue Merle Chow Chow

Guys what do you expect? After all the threats here of what we all do to him? Scared and he nows hides. Instead of threatening, one of you who's near him or interstate, should have reported it to the authorities in a subtle way and pose as one of the buyers. Sting operation. So now, he just hide and...

Re: A misunderstood chow.

Hi Sarah! Yes you are correct, I also think the reason why he is like what he is now is because of endless time he spent in a cage as his previous owner is rich. The kind of rich people who just buys a pet to look at. I really am so sad for that ill-fated male chow. I am only guessing the lady vet w...

Re: My Little Lilly

So happy to hear that you and Lilly are almost back to normal. \o/ She is showing she cares for you and Mike, that she does not want to be given away again. I think she'll behave now. But dont be too lax ever again as we usually do. Cassie is in heat again I think. and surprisingly she is cranky at ...

Re: Fluffs of Love

The reason to see personally the pups is for you to feel the connection. It is not enough and i think it is not proper practice that they let buyers choose from the photos. The puppies will respond to you and you can assess which is which. Puppy who approach first is confident. That one will definit...

Re: dog on dog aggression

Pinning a dog on its side can end in a dog attacking and later euthanasia. If you think you are quicker and can handle the strength and keep your dog down then you can do that. But use that as a last resort. I dont agree you pin your dog after he attack another dog. He is winning the fight and here ...

Re: My Little Lilly

I am so sorry to hear this. And belatedly also. For your wounds, dont put in peroxide too much as it will damage the cells and make the wound heal much much later than if you didnt apply peroxide. Povidone Iodine or Bactroban ointment (Mupirocin is the active ingredient) will do an excellent job wit...

Re: A misunderstood chow.

I want to report that I went to the city again and called up the vet secretary in advance while driving to ask if we can arrange to see the male chow that they keep. Since the communication is choppy, I sent a text message instead. The reply came back after half hour. And that I cannot see him today...

How big do you expect them to be? how did you arrived on the conclusion that they seemed small for dogs? Chows are medium built.

Re: Feeding and pooping schedule

It is possible to train your chow. But at 3 months old, still a baby and well you must be patient as he cant control much of it. Establish a routine. There are a lot of articles here regarding your issue.

Re: My chow chow seems unwell :(

This is for the future as I know you went to the vet: When your chow vomits such liquid that's yellow in color, that means his stomach is empty and nothing to vomit except the very acid contained in the stomach. He has stomach upset. Maybe he is not eating at all. Try to give him something to whet h...

Re: Blue Merle Chow Chow

The coloring of your chow "blue merle" is indeed rare and one of a kind. I would likened it to an albino. Something rare and uncommon. Now if you could just please pause for a moment and be happy about you having a unique dog on your side, wouldn't that be great? But please dont go around ...

Re: does my chow have separation anxiety?

Definitely your chow is BORED. I didnt knew then but Sarahloo said Cassie is never bored because she never never destroyed or damaged anything since she is a pup until now. Except for the hose which she used for teething. Had a few holes on it. Dont feel sorry for crating. But it is a structure to t...
