Re: URGENT REQUEST

You should contact Merlin, look up the name on the member list or go directly to their website. http://www.merlinshope.com/2010/ They do rescue work and are in your area. If anyone knows of a Kennel that would be Chow friendly, they should. You could run the member list and look for anyone that is y...

What it sounds like to me is fear biting, this is not uncommon and comes in all breeds. Read these two articles by Ron Hines DVM PhD, it will give you a little understanding as to what is going on. The first things that you want to look at is, What was her routine in her old home? Did she have a fenced yard or did they walk her? Do you have a fenced yard or do you have to walk her? Another question, Is this your first Chow? Do you have other pets? Did you get the Vet records from the previous ...

Re: Blind Chow found in Nashville

I got a reply and it seems he is not in danger at this time. I am going to stay in touch with them in case he needs a foster until the owners can be located. Here is what she had to say: Thank you so much. With the floods here people have abandoned a lot of animals. Not sure if that is his situation...

Blind Chow found in Nashville

As you may know, Nashville is flooded and they don't know the full death toll yet, so how this Chow g...

The south never gets a kill off of fleas. When I lived in Florida we would bring fleas in from the yard on us to the dogs. Frontline Plus worked for us along with spraying the yard and house. Once they are killed back, as you can never get rid of them all in a sub-tropical climate, the Frontline Plu...

Before I read the post on lower PH of Chow's I thought other dogs were stupid to attack a dog twice their size. Most of the time they can't see a tail so no signal there. Can't usually see any ears so no signal there. If they are black it's hard to see the eyes. They don't smell like a normal dog, I...

If it turns out to just be the gland it will have to be expressed, that is not surgery, they just massage that area and it empties the gland.
